Why is the fan so noisy? I wonder what makes the difference between one fan and another, they also exist in very silent versions! Actually I wonder if one could change the one in this power supply for a different, more silent one?

Now that I look again - first powersupply has no solder path reinforcement between AC/DC rectifier and pwm mosfets, where 240/110 DC(!) is running. This track will fry / cut loose over time. Is not very hard to reinforce, but will take some time and solder...

That supply is 800 miles away. Thin traces may be on purpose. I worked on a power supply that blew an AC trace. This supply had plenty of room to make the trace wider. I had told the owner to use a lamp in series with AC to do dim bulb testing after the first fuse blew. He didn't listen and put in another fuse. That caused the trace to open up. Most of my supplies are XANTREX. This is a handy supply to use and it could be fixed up a little. Not much reason to. People want to shop by price and stuff like this is what they get.

@@opera5714 not AC, high V DC, it'll just melt at some point. Maybe one can even use thermal cam to find what to enforce 😏. As of to the rest of yer comment - 👍'up. Happy holidays!

Will a motor say wiper motor only draw as much as needed so it dosnt matter how high you set it?

Motors initially draw a lot of current till they start spinning and produce a back EMF. Easiest way to think about it is all DC motors are 1V. So, a 12v motor is running with 1V and 11V of back EMF. The power supply limits voltage and current. Without load the motor will keep spinning faster till it flies apart or the magnetic core saturates.

extremely small sink, non reinforced power lines on back of mainboard is demand to be fried. These inverters number 1 death reason is high temp near caps and mosfets. Edit: I would add second fan at top to blow hot air out or rotate the fan to blow outside and add second fan just on top of that heatsink.

You have to accept that there are degrees of junk. This one was free.

@@opera5714 Sort of. Microxactions in software also appeared cause ppl buy them more. Chinese pack less metal and worse filtering cause ppl not willing to pay. Hence they will actually respond and tell you what to add to improve it, heh.. Also the components fry due to bad solder and bad soldering of stuff to board, all also due to ppl unwilling to pay. Filters fail due to resistance increase over time - and yiz see mosfets/caps go boom. Capitalism... But you know why they send for free to review? Cause they want honest opinion. Won't find this in Europe/Us - all censored/biased, even if unsponsored - chance to get lawsuit/takedown, as bad reviews will pull down sells...
