I have a volvo it also had a small oil filter I put on one that's twice as big I figured the more filtering the better. Also it looked like there was pipe tape on the threads of your zinc if so that will stop it from working . you need metal to metal, thats why brass so it will seal. sure a nice clean engine!
@SailingBlueBird9 жыл бұрын
+theislandpackrat Bigger filter = better filtering. Sounds right. A bigger filter is also easier to grap, when loosening it. Thanks for mentioning the "tape", but the white thing is oxidated aluminum. For keeping it tight it has a Cu-washer. Think I will pull it out again and clean the threads, because you are absolutely right about the "metal to metal". Thanks

nice video, I know this has been some time but looking to figure out where the anti siphon loop would be connected. I have the same exact engine.

Thank you. Sold the boat with the engine, but I think mine was connected after the water pump.

how thick are your coolants hoses that goes to the boiler? Doesn't the Nanni have very thin inlet and outlet for the coolant above the pump? It's like 10mm inner diameter only? Does it matter? Do you still need to use 16mm inner diameter hose? How does it fit onto the 10mm outlet on above the coolant pump?
@SailingBlueBird Жыл бұрын
I remember the hoses as beeing 19 mm inner diameter all the way ?
@IrregularPineapples Жыл бұрын
@@SailingBlueBird thank you -- it seems like the service agent I've been talking to about the boiler installation has given me bad advice -- he told me I should connect it at the to of the coolant water pump (in your engine there is a few inches of tube that connects the top of your coolant pump and your thermostat cap) -- that same place exists on my engine Nanni Kubota N3.21 -- the issue is that, at least on my engine, the inlets there are 10mm flat barb -- I think this is to increase pressure and allow easier to bleed air out of the system at the highest point of the coolant system (which that place is). It sounds like you have a boiler installed? Did you add the hoses connecting to the boiler between the bottom of the engine coolant water pump and the radiator? thanks~

Good video. Thanks for sharing. I have the smaller version of this engine, I am wondering where did you connect you positive and negative leads from the battery? Are they connected directly to the starter or alternator?
@marcopagliacci4 жыл бұрын
Hello Sebastian! I've the smaller version too! Quick question: did you install the new exhaust mixer with the anode ? I've still the old version with the old exhaust mixer without the anode...
@haroldsimpson72604 жыл бұрын
very interesting thank you. Any chance you could do a video on how to change the fuel filter and bleed the system this would help me a lot,thanks
@SailingBlueBird4 жыл бұрын
Sorry, I do not own the boat anymore. The is a bleeding pump in tur lefthand side og the engine and a air screw on top of the filter housing. Fill up the new filter and run tur engine. Normally og would bleed itself.

Thank You! I have the same engine/gear box in a 31 ft sailboat. This was very helpful. I have to replace my timingbelt (rem) due to lack of space for the dynamo. Is it an easy fix? Cant find this in the manual?

Pretty easy. Beginner level. Dismount the generator.

Thanks great! Is the slack on the alternator appropriate?

Sailing Blue Bird You have my wife and I interested in getting a sail boat. We live in Ohio. I sailed some back in my 20s . I’m 53 now. I had forgotten what my passion was. It is the ocean . Sailing, Scuba, Surfing and fishing. I moved to Ohio and i have not even seen the ocean in 6 years. That is going to change this coming year. Thanks for sharing your dream with us.

Hello! What model Mazda does the oilfilter come from? And have you by any chance found a dieselfilter that can also fit the engine from a car manufacturer? Best regards Martin
@SailingBlueBird8 жыл бұрын
Hi Martin. I do not know an exact model. I just tell the car equipment store that it is from a 1980'ies model. Never figured out which diesel filter to use, Try asking for a Beta 20 tractor engine.

I just have a question, the gear box oil. Where did I not see what happens there ? Do you put new oil in the gear box or just pump it all out ?

I would love to, but I do not have tur engine anymore. Changing the fuelfilter is the same proces ås the oilfilter.. just fill the New filter with diesel Before mounting.

is the Nanni 3.75 the same as the 3.21?
@SailingBlueBird5 жыл бұрын
Same ammount of horse powers, cylinder etc. Looks the same. But i guess there might be slighter chanches to the newer 3.21 model. Why rename it then? 🙂
@skipper13505 жыл бұрын
@@SailingBlueBird Thankyou for your reply, I did notice the OEM filter part numbers are identical, however, there is a .3L difference in oil capacity. My interest is limited to parts and availability. I just bought a boat with a 3.75 HE and found your video to quite instructive, thanks. I willl endeavour to catch more of your videos.

@SailingBlueBird7 жыл бұрын

Ahoy - this may be too late but that alternator belt is just way too loose. Maybe it has stretched too much - or maybe you can adjust the pivot point for a little more adjustment. Just saying. Good video though.
@SailingBlueBird8 жыл бұрын
+Norman Boyes Thanks, glad you liked the video. You are totally right about the V-belt, I did tighten it once again after the video shooting. I guess the reason why they get too loose, is when they are worn and the inner diameter i getting bigger.
@normanboyes49838 жыл бұрын
Well sort of - a Vee belt transmits power through its sides - if it bottoms out in the pulley it will slip for sure. It is entirely possible you have the wrong size belt or would benefit from buying a slightly shorter one - so that a new belt is leaving plenty of adjustment slot 'spare' if you get me.
@SailingBlueBird8 жыл бұрын
+Norman Boyes I'm always using the original belt. But it is a great tip, using a smaller size. I'll try it out when the old one is worn out and make an update. Thanks :)
@normanboyes49838 жыл бұрын
+Sailing Blue Bird .....but be careful that the 'Vee' angle is the same as orig spec.👍
