Steve from Blue's Clues got really fucked by genetics. He found the role fulfilling and was very involved in it. Like, his personality was just silly enough to work for it. He was ready to make it his job. But life said "Hey, wouldn't it be funny if you were depressed AND quickly going bald at the age of 29?" There also weren't any fully tested anti-hairloss options. So depression turns into severe depression, because that's what being forced to have a midlife crisis at age 29 does. Then there's no way he could keep his role as Steve. There's also no way he could pivot into another role since he no longer looked like Steve, so there's no nostalgia/recognizability factor. But was still considered the Blue's Clues guy so nobody would take him seriously. It's a really sad story. Positive note: he got to work on Blue's Clues in the background about a decade later. Nobody really wants to stay in kid's entertainment. So when Hollywood deemed him "old enough" to be useful outside of just an acting role, they took him back. Yay I guess?
