I can understand the fascination, perhaps because I read Inuit fairy-tales when I was a kid :-) (I'm Czech, they were translated to Czech). I have ADHD and Northern countries have a calming effect on me. And I wrote my thesis on Barry Lopez's Arctic Dreams. There's something about Northern countries that's hard to define and hard to find anywhere else :-) I personally love the sunlight in the North - it's clearer and much sharper than here in central Europe. I've lived in Latvia, Estonia and Finlad and the winters were OK but the springs were crazy hard because they came much later than I'm used to, so my body was literally aching for sunlight and flowers. But it was all worth it.

Abel Petersen Eskimos seem to be related to Asians somehow ^^. Linguistically and ethnically probably, there are eskimo-related peoples in northeast Siberia (some hundreds of kilometers above my hometown, Manchuria/Chinese Northeast; I'm sure the ancestors of the Eskimos had interactions (either direct or indirect) with the Chinese and Koreans and the Ainu of Japanese Hokkaido Island/Siberia). I'm half-korean and half-European. It's cool to see people groups who kinda look like half-Asians ^^ (e.g. Central Asians, etc.) ^0^. Anyways, Viva la Nuuk. Viva la Greenland!
