Sometimes you watch the show and sometimes you are the show! Love the Nant, even in spite of the cold water.

August on a weekday if you don’t wear a wet suit. I’ve been down twice in a one man blow up and had only been on level 1 rivers. I came out once only because someone in front of me got stuck on a rock and a big raft knocked up both out. It was a busy Saturday. Make sire you have someone experienced with you in case you need assistance. The water is freezing cold and will put you in shock. Other than that it’s the most fun I’ve ever had on the river!

Beautiful trip. One day I will work up to this. Only been kayaking for 2 weeks. Spent 2 hours in the lake yesterday trying to learn the roll. On the bright side, I am halfway there. I have mastered the tipping upside down part.

I love this river. It's more of a "warm-up" run for me these days, but I still really enjoy paddling it. Watched Pete's video as well. I hope to meet and paddle with both of you guys one of these days.

Sorry that I missed the Premier! Our oldest son came to cook Shan's Mother's day dinner tonight and we have not got to visit with him as much as usual, since COVID.I have to say that i was a little disappointed that no one tried the paddle toss over that bridge at 1:22!! LOL! BTW, i clicked "Top Chat Replay" as I watched the video and it was ALMOST like getting to take part in the Premier, I just couldn't take part in the conversations! Enjoyed the video, Kevin! It was amazingly clear. I saw that Austin asked if it was 4K...I was just about to ask the same thing when I saw that he had asked it. Good job!

Would you recommend using an old town vapor 10 on this river
@thewonderingelectrician3 жыл бұрын
I would not at all. This is a solid class 2 continual flow with some class 3 in spots at normal release flow. Water is very quick and maneuvering just be quick in a hard boat. A boat with a full skirt is a must or a raft or ducky. I'm sure it's been run in a rec boat before, however probably not successfully. They do rent Ducky's/inflatable kayaks at the raft outfitters up there that would give you a great time running down in one of those. Hope this helps.

How much experience do you recommend someone have to take on this river? I have a Perception Corsica and have paddled some slower rivers but want to start some more challenging water
@thewonderingelectrician2 жыл бұрын
It's a class 3 with a 4 at the falls(I think that's a 4 anyway). Its set up for commercial use somewhat so a mistake is not usually gonna have too bad of consequences. However a swim will be cold even in the summer and a long one if in a wave train. You can walk around the falls if you need to. The road is also right along the side just in case a walk out is required. They send tourists down in inflatable kayaks all season long so that should tell you something. It is a great fun run that fast and full of good waves. It if you go with someone with experience you should be fine. Have fun out there.

@thewonderingelectrician Жыл бұрын
@@Dramafree2266 the river is a very "commercialized" river, being that the NOC and other raft companies put inexperienced paddlers on it by the dozen every day all summer long. It's cleared of major hazard as much as possible. However there are always danger and consequences. But people swim all the time there just like most class 2-3 rivers, it's how they learn. Rolling in a pool or lake and combat rolls are way different to learn, as I'm sure you know. We never send inexperienced paddlers down a river without a crew there to help them if they need it. We've all been starting out before and can use all the help we can get.
