Brings back so many wonderful memories. My grandfather's family owns the house on Quaker and Vestal street. My earliest memories are from here. We would travel from Connecticut and visit in summer and winter in the 1980s when I was just a child. I haven't been back since 1993. I will always remember the old mill and Sankaty Point lighthouse and all of the other magical places there.

Yes, ❤ a friend of mine experienced that last month on a virtual tour of Holland! I used to visit Nantucket as a kid in the 70s and it really felt like home. HOME. Now, however, things have changed so radically that I don't even want to set foot on the island for fear of getting a broken heart at all the new construction and upscale shops etc. The tiny apartment my family used to rent there for two weeks cost us $200 for that time. Now it is $40,000 for the same two weeks. Is that absolutely nuts or what??? All that aside, much of the island and town will still retain its historical nature.
