Naomi Guitar Bow (G-Bow): Unboxing & Demo

The folks from Naomi Music contacted me and asked if I wanted to review a new product. The Guitar Bow (G-Bow) is a small device that allows you to get bowed tones from an acoustic guitar. In this video I unbox it and try it for the first time. It's a cool gadget but it will definitely take some practice.

Huh. I have the Pickasso -- same idea, about two years old now,. Samurai Guitarist was the unboxer I heard about it from. I ended up putting a tiny zip tie on the top of the bow, to pull the strings in closer and give me more room between the strings. I can also angle it steeper into the body of the guitar, giving me a little more useable length, plus the ability to bow two strings at once. My violist niece says to rosin until if you run your thumb across the bow strings some powdery stuff is released. Sounds AWESOME. I find it works best as a backing track maker.

I remember seeing the Pickasso on Samurai Guitarist's channel. This seems to be a knock off. The handle is a bit different but the idea is the same. Thanks for checking out the vid.

Look up the band the creation the guitarist played with a violin bow sometimes. he is credited with being the first to use them in combination.

I was thinking... one idea for a video of yours could be about your t-shirt collection. What do you think? Maybe then you would be the "guitar beau"! Yes I'm messing with you a little bit, but I actually think this idea of a t-shirt video is good. You have so many nice ones! Cheers!

Sooooo. I think they found the right person to do this ! I know that somehow you Will incorporate it into something musical at a later date. My favorite way you used it when when you played that little blues lick and used it instead of a pick. I personally don’t care for the back and forth for too long as it messes with my hearing aids. Ha ha now I’m starting to sound like a crotchety old lady. How funny. Yet I do believe you will make it work. Very interesting unboxing. Thanks Kale!!

Very cool If you want a drone note I think long and slow will do you better but I can all so see a use for that faster in and out drawn notes opens up a lot of cool thoughts
