What Inoue is trying to say is that MJ lost to Tapales and Inoue was the one that knocked out Tapales.I know Bob Arum is trying to build up the fight between Nakatani and Inoue (Sep'25 most likely) when the monster returns to the ring in the US this April-May. I think Bob Arum is trying to match the #1 WBC contender and Mexican boxer: Alan David Picasso up against Inoue. That fight also make sense since Picasso is the only other undefeated top fighter left in the division. But I wouldn't mind seeing Inoue knocking out MJ before he fights Junto Nakatani in the Tokyo Dome later in 2025.

BS! Tapales won the fight in the early rounds because MJ was not confident in himself to take the fight to Taples heavy and hard early. He could not get the win from the later rounds despite the effort. If Tapales fought MJ with the same tenacity he fought Inoue with he would have beat MJ on all scorecards. Tapales was confident, ripped and ready in the Inoue. That in and out engagement didn't work on Tapales and it will not work on Inoue.
