I LOVE the 90's industrial grind/death style of Napalm Death. One of the most original and genuinely distopic sounding bands of all time. Everything from the recording to the actual performance is always top notch in this period. They were one of the most cutting edge bands of the 90's. True legends in extreme music.

Seen them in New York U.S.A. During This EP! And before this on Fear, Emptiness ,Dispair. And Before that in "1992". Great Days in The Early to Mid "1990,s ,but wish I Seen Them On Harmony Curruption and The Lee Dorian and Bill Steer Days ,but didn't hear these guys until Spring of "1989" just as Mentally Murdered Came Out. At That Time I Was Into Hardcore and Thrash and Early Death Metal. But seen them with Jesse P. R.I.P. (4) times. Cheers Napalm Death True Legends.Grind/ Death and Dare I Say Even Some Punk Too.

Seemed they were listening to a lot of Fear Factory while conceiving this album & the subsequent full length Diatribes. Very industrial metal sounding w of course Barney's growls to still keep it in the Death Metal/Extreme category.

Note to self/Dec 12th '24: This is me giving this era of Napalm Death a real chance. At the time i was turned off by the cleaner sound and less aggressive approach. I stuck to the pre-"Fear, Emptiness, Despair" material and hundreds of other bands. I tried again years later but only found joy in "FED"/I've been addicted to "FED" lately and it made me wanna have an open mind to this era. Will it be a success story or will i still go from "FED" to "Enemy of the Music Business" while ignoring this portion of their catalog? Only time will tell!

Initial feelings: pretty good!! i think "Self Betrayal" should have been the last song and the live version of "Plague Rages" isn't that good (Barney was a boozer at the time and its NOTICABLE) but the complaints end there! I dub this EP "slept on" as i REALLY like side B/the exclusive tracks. some cool stuff happening here and its at least as good as "Enemy of the Music Business"

Yr opinion, in case anyone missed it, posted three times in this one comment sectikn about this uno album, is you hate this and its weak crap and Scum Rul3z and them dojng this normal commercial sellout crap is a.buncha weak ass barney shit to the not extreme now. Noted. Stated. Copied. While i point out that the majority of the herd, or should i say all us pussy sheep have the opinion that this isnt only good, but unrealy fucing great. To me, better than just fine Diatribes and need to hear more before i say better as good or touch behind Fear,.Emptiness. The former is more laid out clangy up tempo, the later is tensely rumbling kinda suffocating, and jumpy tempos all around but a feature more on this. A couple earlier ep's of this band from early 90's is arguably their zenith. Just gnarly brutal shit inpenitrible or sometjing lol song writing and beyond driven playing more tight and spastic release than usually possible and no sounding corny or going through motions. Impressive band career and most releases 👍🤘🖕👊🧠☠️🔨🔊☢️🔱
