yeah i listened 'neither shape nor shadow' 8-9 years ago and thought cool but kinda long for melodeath? I dunno. After Vessels released, I spend some time listening the album, now I consider them as my favorite band, astonishing but requires some investment to be pulled into.

It's been 4 months since the first time I heard this band and I cant pass a day without listening to their music. What the hell is going on with the promotion department. Seriously. I'm crying Now (admittedly I'm VERY tired and a bit high) I'm so glad they did this! Why TF are they not more well known?! I don't know where I would be mentally w/o Be'lakor. Just been listening to them, Jinjer and Ayreon all thru quarantine. (Oh. I just noticed your user name there. Nice! Anathema was my nom de plume back in the 90's! Love that word. Although, Vessels is 4 years old, it's great to see these new lyric videos. They are nicely put together and help the lyrics to tell the story of the Album from start to finish. Hopefully releasing these will help more people discover Be'lakor.

I don't know what Melodic Death Metal really means. I am a thrash guy, and a bit purist about it, I won't lie lol. I listen to any other band called Melodic Death Metal, and I can't sit through a single song. Be'lakor, I absolute love. I don't think they sound ANYTHING like other bands in this genre, I think they are MILES ahead......just my opinion. Incredible, incredible band.

@@mostlypeacefulslav1663 nope I'm with u all the way 100% a different league, as that's what I spend endless hours a night searching for bands that stand out and get me really excited by there music and dont just pump out the same old crap ,I only found ghost 12 months ago and I'm mad into them and after months of searching and not thinking I'd find another band that would excite me again ,I found blackbriar what a band ,what a voice plus zora is beautiful and the musical content love the story telling about witches ect I cant get enough ,on to find my next gem now lol have u checked blackbriar out u probably have as I'm always way late to the party lol ,take care :)

@@garystanton4347 So, I was unemployed because of injury from work for awhile a few years ago. I woke up every day, thought of a random country, usually something off the beaten path, like The Maldives, and look for a metal band from that country. I love thrash, so that would be my go to. I would just google "Maldives thrash band". I did this every day for a few months, and found a lot of interesting stuff. I like your style, long story short lol. Regarding Blackbriar, I just gave them a quick sample listen. I must say, not my thing, but sometimes, I learn to like something later, so I always bookmark recommendations from others, and will always check back at least once. Sometimes, headspace can impact what I think of music, so its always good try something new...twice :)

It took me a long time to get into this album. I was so in love with Of Breath and Bone and Stone's Reach that I didn't invest enough time or patience to listen to something new when Vessels was first released. These lyric videos reminded me to sit down and listen to this album, and boy have I been missing out! This track is the pick of the bunch though. Mesmerizing. Thought provoking. Timeless. Thank you for these - I will not be making the same mistake when the new album is released! Good luck and God speed

They aren't really comparable to the greats from Finland and elsewhere, they play more a niche style. More progressive, mid-tempo, introspective stuff. I'd lump them in with Ne Obliviscaris, Opeth, etc., but that's a category within which no band really hits the spot for me, so I can't judge.

Insomnium is a good band, but for me Be'lakor is the best. Such a melodic and clean sound, and so many transitions. All the songs are great, not a single filler song.

A bit surprised. Only Venator made me cry. Most of Be'lakor's music is mostly gorgeous dreamrides for me. Can't say the same about Insomnium, most of their older stuff was written to evoke sadness e.g. the entire album of Across the Dark was like that
