Finally! A good review of the SUV tent I just bought.... also... a lot of good info I’ll need. The wife and I play music and travel around like this.

It's a lot of fun. I do all types of camping. Mostly stealth with no costs whatsoever. I have portable everything including a 12v shower. I'll boil a pot of water adding to a bucket of cold giving me a long hot soapy shower. Adventures without all the extra costs can be planed using Google Earth investigating an area to find a spot to tuck away in out of site or right in the middle of an up scale neighborhood. Try Google Earth in planing for a comfortable camp spot at no cost.

We have been on the road for a couple weeks. Started in Tulsa and went up through Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa, South Dakota... and are now in Montana. Love the tent! Thanks for the vid. I (Cody) may try stealth camping! The wife means paying for KOA’s with showers and laundry facilities. Lol.

The fire extinguisher was a great tip. They sell one time use ones also that are alot smaller and I've used before to put out a car engine fire before. The road flares also a great tip as I've answered a call doing roadside were the car broke down with no power (alternator) and other cars rear ended the broke down car.

Safety should always be the number 1 goal on any trip. Fire extinguisher and road flares might never be needed, yet a life saver if the time comes you do needed them.

Jeff I just started camping in a Dodge caravan now that I am retired and have the time to go play. Enjoyed your review I was wondering if you could post the Amazon links to your products.

I will put those links up this week.

Hi jeff, I just purchased that for my Dodge Journey, how do I keep my tailgate open without draining my car battery?
@jeffjacobs76382 жыл бұрын
I converted all my lighting to LED to save battery. Most cars have a auto shut off even with a door open. If yours does not shut off, turn them off by hand and get a battery power lantern. I recommend the Sahara Sailor I have a review video on it. Its very impressive with a bug zapper that truly works great getting those insects that find a way in. Enjoy the convence of your fast set up SUV camping. Also use Google Earth for areas to hide in camping remote without paying a camp ground.

Do you think this would fit on .y truck camper. If I had the shell and tailgate open dou you think it would be long enough to zip up at the end of them?

Also very curious

Great evaluation of the Napier tent product! Have u ever used it in a Campground? And can the tent adjust to accommodate different size SUVs? Are the straps adjustable to fit the smallest to largest SUV?
@jeffjacobs76383 жыл бұрын
I have not used this within a camp ground at this time. I’ve used this on Stealth camping adventures if my truck can be tucked in and hidden. The tent works with all sizes of SUV’s and vans. Can work with or without a roof rack as they also include longer strips to mount to the front hood. A van or SUV can be converted for a comfortable sleep arrangement. Save money and aggravation trying to get the hotel closest to the beach, as this can get just as near at no cost.

Patricia, The Napier Cove sports tent comes in two different sizes to fit hatchback cars smaller SUVs and larger SUVs. Hope that helps

Does keeping the tailgate open drain your battery? Do you have any tips on that?
@jeffjacobs76383 жыл бұрын
I converted all lighting inside the truck to LED. Normally I don't run the inside light on all night, yet they've been on an hour or two with no problems. The LED conversion with as easy as taking the old lights out and snapping the LED in. LED uses less power with more light output.

Do you think if you don’t stake this down , in an emergency you could shut the hatch and just quickly drive off with everything in place until you got to a safe place to disassemble properly? Or worse case drive off with hatch open? I know with hatch open exhaust can come in car but am just worried about emergency.
@jeffjacobs76382 жыл бұрын
No you can’t close it into the truck to hatch open later, yet it goes down really fast and can be thrown on the back without bagging it very fast. 3 mins take down this way five min setup. If your in very remote area with bears don’t use the tent. Use my stealth method of covering your windows with self made covers and screens like I have or order the window covers from Weathertech. Stealth is very useful to save money. I do it visiting the shore and not needing a hotel.

I've used cat litter too ...I make sure its scented 🤣🤣
@jeffjacobs76383 жыл бұрын
Yes scented is the best. I think the dry 5 gallon buckets with a toilet seat are affordable, easy to clean and no maintenance at all. I've even used it at the shore with my privacy panels put up as explained in a video showing my stealth camping setup.

How is it holding up?
@jeffjacobs76382 жыл бұрын
It holds up very well. I use it 50% of the time. I do stealth camping a lot and if I can tuck my truck in a spot hidden I use this tent. It’s comfy with a super fast setup. It’s great not needing to setup a camp or tent. It’s very very rare I spend money on a camp site. I’m all about enjoying weekends away from home at low costs. I’ll be making a video soon camping at the shore using stealth camping to save money.

Love this review. Have you ever set this up in a neighborhood? If so, does it raise concerns?
@jeffjacobs76382 жыл бұрын
No, sorry on maybe having confused you when I mentioned STEALTH CAMPING. SC is having your car, van or SUV easily setup to blend in to a neighborhood, casino parking lot, shore or wherever. If you look through my videos I give lots of information on how you can get setup for STEALTH CAMPING. I do use the tent when hidden in the woods or off the road. Some great and interesting videos can be found in stealth camping, suv camping and van life.

Actually, you slip those window screens over the entire DOOR so then the windows can be lowered.

Can I put this out on Walmart parking lot?
@jeffjacobs76389 ай бұрын
Only if you have permission from store manager. I always say I'll stay out and away. Also clean a few yards in my area I say in my hopes for permission. Most of the time I use full stealth. Put my weathertech window covers black facing out. All my pasenger windows are dark tinted. I now use a 2017 Ford Escape now.
@jeffbarnard3483 жыл бұрын
Does it keep mosquitoes out?
@jeffjacobs76383 жыл бұрын
Yes, does a great job, and in the video I show a screen I say goes over the window. It goes over the door frame covering window double layer. Windows can be fully down with no insects coming in.
@jeffjacobs76383 жыл бұрын
Also for extra protection in the summer get some magnets to completely seal the net on the outside door. The netting is a great tool and not very expensive on Amazon.
@jeffjacobs76383 жыл бұрын
Yes, yet I do use bug repletes around camp. In the truck tent I use the lantern with a bug zapper. Use the Serra Sailor that I did a full review on if you look for it in my other videos.

oh and what editor do you use for your vlogs?
@jeffjacobs76383 жыл бұрын
I’m a rookie and haven’t used any type of editing software. I’m looking into it and begin sharing some of the cool interesting adventures I plan during the weekends.
@MellowNomadicAdventures3 жыл бұрын
That's a great question for many people who are new to creating videos! Do you have a budget for an editor or are you looking for a free option?
