As I've said before, if Npier opens next season with a bad loss to Miami similar to this season's loss, then the fire Billy narrative returns. But if we beat Miami and get on a roll, that will validate this turnaround. GO GATORS!

What u described as problems is actually just football. U don't win every play. But if you win the majority of them u usually win the game. Thornton is a prime example. Gets beat and then has 14 tackles and 2 Int.

No of course you’re right- the point is the old Vince Lombardi quote. Perfection is unattainable. But if you chase perfection, you can catch excellence. My mindset for everything in life is to chase perfection, and settle for and celebrate excellence. Florida is not at the point of excellence yet. But they’re a lot closer to it than they were two months ago!

@ I just wish you were as quick to praise as you are to try and fire somebody. To say our coach has to earn your rooting interest is the very definition of fair weather. If you ain’t with them in the struggle you can’t be with them when they win.

@@Gardenerjohn-northfldude. Go look at all my shows, all my tweets, all my articles. They’re all Gators related. If I was a fair weather fan, I would’ve ditched my Gator fandom and become a Bama fan four failed coaches who. I didn’t do that because I’m a Gator in all kinds of weather. Sometimes being a Gator means you have to have unpleasant conversations and say things that aren’t fun or enjoyable. But these things are said because at the end of the day, I want to win. The sum of the data told me that it would be in Florida’s best interest to fire Napier so that they could hire a better coach who could win. And that may still be the case! We don’t know! But I’m willing to wait and see some more before stating that definitively.
@Gardenerjohn-northfl29 күн бұрын
@ I understand what you are saying and where you’re coming from, it’s apparent that you are emotionally invested in Gators football. I also understand the need for unpleasant conversations and feel like we’ve been having one that is every bit as necessary and relevant to the future of the program as a coach, and to me that conversation is what kind of image we as fans want to present. I’m tired of being the fanbase that everyone rolls their eyes at when we start hearing noise from people who supposedly like gators football calling for a regime change at the end of 2 years. A house divided can’t stand and when it’s our own fans turning on our team and our coach it’s frustrating. I held my peace on muschamp, Mac, and Mullen, even though I think Mac or Mullen would have us in that consistent 9-11 wins window. What I’m saying is that everyone is getting the same results because the issue is unrealistic expectations that have been made worse by early success, particularly Mac and Mullen who won way earlier than they should have. Mac particularly because his whole tenure looks different if Grier can play. I don’t understand how folks don’t understand that building depth takes time and patience, when there is no stability it really does leave us vulnerable to external threats and it’s obvious how harmful that is from the results we’ve had. The role of the fan in all of this is to support the program, not to play gm. The negativity has not helped us to get to where we want to go and all of the success we’re having in recruiting right now would have been lost if you fire Billy year 3. It’s a conversation that should have never come up and it should not be still going on. I think your biggest problem in programming is that you don’t have any divergence of opinion and to me it seems like you guys convince each other that it’s way worse than what it really is.

@@inallkindsofweatherforecast the most offensive part of all of this to me is the way that the podcast world just went all in on Lame Kiffin. That guy has proven time and time again that he’s not a big time coach. He would have been fired after 3’ years or less and we’d be still trying to rebuild 5 years from now.

Sure we won & just beat *The Garnett & Shame* at *Choak Shambles Stadium* which is always awesome. However Napier proved myself & the diehard Gatorfans who can be honest enough to always keep certain thing in perspective. We saw another Billy Napier Coached Gator team revert back to not coming out & playing with any fire and looked unprepared to go to battle when he has built momentum. Also side note, im proud of DJ for finding some sort of rhythm in this game because he did not look comfortable for much of this game.. however DJ needs to fix his body language when the going gets tough out there, I’ve gradually have noticed that’s a subtle flaw that he has that needs to change because that truly can matriculate itself on down to the rest of the team especially from the QB position. Early in the season I wanted him gone, but 3 of the last 4 games have showed me that he CAN get it done (not that he 100% will). Assuming we don’t have a letdown tomorrow I have a lot of hope and that has to translate into 8 wins minimum next year (would prefer 9+)

I never read a single practice report that said he was horrible. I did read that he was learning the offense and moving the ball effectively but then making mistakes every other drive he got in scrimmages, which can’t happen. But the point is to let the guy learn, and grow, and develop.
@williamfisher866Ай бұрын
@inallkindsofweatherforecast Chris deoring and Shane Matthew's attended multiple practices during the spring and summer and said he was not a good practice player. But since then, they have said that he was definitely a gamer. Hind sight is definitely 20/20. If I were BN and my job depended on it I would have started the sure thing in Mertz as well. We were fortunate that Mertz got hurt or we would still be playing 2 QBs.
