In 1978, it was created by the swelling of the Szilas stream, in order to avoid the flooding of the stream. [4] Its area was originally a periodic water-covered mire located in the wide, flat valley of the Szilas stream. The western shore of the lake is the steep slope of the stream, on which the part of the lake is concreted, and there is a paved road on top of it. The rest of the coast was naturally created as the water filled the deeper part of the dam. Its creation has contributed (unless it is an exclusive reason) to the survival of marshlands that have been threatened by dehydration as a result of large river regulation and marsh drainage since the 19th century.
Kialakulása
1978-ban a Szilas-patak visszaduzzasztása révén alakult ki, hogy így vegyék elejét a patak áradásainak.[4] Területe eredetileg a Szilas-patak árterületének széles, lapos völgyében elhelyezkedő, időszakosan vízzel borított láprét volt. A tó nyugati partja a patakot visszaduzzasztó földgát, melyen a tó felőli rész ki van betonozva, tetején aszfaltozott út fut végig. Többi partja természetes úton alakult ki, ahogy a víz feltöltötte a gát előtti mélyebb részt. Létrehozása hozzájárult (hacsak nem kizárólagos oka) a patak menti láprétek fennmaradásához, amelyeket a 19. századtól kezdődő nagy folyószabályozások és mocsárlecsapolások következtében a kiszáradás fenyegetett.
