In this video we will explore the differences between these two gas grills. Both Napoleon and Weber Grills are of the highest quality, and two of the very best choices on the market? The question is, which one is better for you?
The Pros of the Napoleon are a fully enclosed cabinet with self contained propane tank, and much better ignitor and intergraded burner system. Both grills seemed identical as far as hot spots in our cooking demo. Both grills come in stainless and black, black being the more affordable of the two. So which grill do you choose? Removed a section in my camper where the entertainment area is and installed. Works great. Instead of propane furnace heat, I can use this kzbin.infoUgkxATHBlMJwipGgVWseuAFKvDQ_5R4_lywo to heat the camper as long as it's hooked up to shore power. Only thing I do not like is there does not seem to be a thermostat. I'm presuming it has a built-in one so it does not overheat. Really like all the other color options it has to offer.

We got a Weber Genesis II E-315 for our cabin last summer and it was the first "good" grill I've used. And it was amazing. We moved last fall so I waited till after the snow melted to get a new home grill to replace out awful Broil King. I was set on another Weber until I saw the Napoleon. Glad I stumbled onto your video as it was quite helpful. The ignition system along I think will be enough to change my mind. The lower price and longer warranty are icing on the cake. Thanks!

While I appreciate the reputation and warranty of Weber I would've needed to spend another $200 to get an E-335 with comparable functionality to the Rogue XT. I have the 5 year old Napoleon Triumph, and just bought the Napoleon 425 SE with sear side burner for the camp. I love my Napoleon. The older one works as well as the day I bought it. After 3 years of grilling during all 4 Canadian seasons, the cast iron grill surface started to crack, something all my BBQs have done over the years, Napoleon quickly and easily replaced them with the stainless steel grills for free. Pluses: The cover is not too deep like many cheaper BBQs. Size matters, the Napoleon's lower profile cover results in less time to heat up (brilliant). Great even heat. Easy to clean. GREAT after sale service. BEST warranty, 15 years, bumper to bumper, are you kidding me?! You can't go wrong buying a Napoleon.

Just bought the E315 because I like the pedestal as I have no place close to my BBQ to store BBQ tools. Plus it looks better and being the natural gas version it doesn't have the exposed tank problem. Replacing a 17 year old Vermont Castings which I loved, but the steel bottom rotted away where the burners mount. And the grease seeping out from the seams was annoying. Can't wait to put this thing together! Oh and I also didn't think about the dogs getting into the grease tray. That is actually a very good point. I'm sure it would also attract the damned raccoons and other critters as well.

I've had my Weber 15 years and never had to hold the knob at the same time you push the igniter. I have a different model than this one reviewed so I checked it out. Clearly on KZbin videos you just do the following 1. Turn the knob to the start position 2. push the ignition. Done. I've never had a burner blow out either so not quite getting this point, not that you made it a big deal. Warranties. Weber Genesis is 10 years on all parts, Napoleon Rogue 15 on the lids (stainless or enamel and the base) The rest, 5 years or less although they do give a 50% discount until the 10th year. Again I'm finally replacing my Weber after 15 years left out doors with no cover and Weber has given me some exceptional deals on replacement parts. Good comparison though. Thanks for the video. It goes for £791. Ok, its a bit more expensive but other than the sizzling infrared side burner (which is something that the weber doesn't have and looks useful), the Napoleon can be converted to a charcoal BBQ using a tray placed directly over the burners. This is amazing. Such an anti-climax for my new BBQ ... I wish I knew earlier, lol

I have a newer genisis that’s two years old and it is already rusting. The stainless doesn’t hold up. So if you buy it keep it oiled. The igniter died and the sear knob melted for some reason. The Weber covers have also gone downhill. Mine is falling apart at only 2 years and that was a “premium” cover for $100. The Velcro does not resist UV damage causing the Velcro to deteriorate quickly.

One thing the Weber grills have proven is that heat distrubution on the grilling surface is even, compared to most other grills. When doing these comparisons, place bread all over the cooking surface and see if the Napoleon grill has good heat distribution, cause that is what really makes a good grill as well.

I have seen so many very expensive grills that are over $2000, and the heat distribution is terrible. And on another point, I have seen those same expensive grills with ceramic briquette trays and they flame up so badly and burn everything. Grills with flavorizer bars are the best designed grills to prevent flame ups and provide great heat distribution. Thanks for your informative videos.

Love this video, thank you for the comparison. I was looking into getting a new grill and was leaning towards a Weber. This was an eye opening video but my only concern is that the grill i am replacing is a Napoleon Prestige II 450 that is still in great shape, i just HATE it. Don't get me wrong, it's still in great shape despite being outdoors all year long in New York's crazy weather. I was inspired to buy it after watching License to Grill, a Canadian grilling show, he used a Napoleon and loved it, so I ordered one, no dealers anywhere near NY at the time and it cost me almost $1000 with shipping. What I hate is the uneven heat from day one. Back right corner hot as hell, middle back somewhat hot, left back corner less hot, rest of grill sucks and the front, might add well be a warming rack. It has soured my opinion of Napoleon grills. I prefer to use my $200 Coleman tailgating grill because the heat is more even. So my question is this, are these new Napoleons better than the older ones or am I just in for another disappointment. Mind you I am not a serious griller, I grill a few times a month dieing the warmer months

Yes I think they have improved a lot over the years. In the 12 years I have been selling them. They went from “what’s a Napoleon?”. To people coming in asking for them. I’m just not a fan of the Weber in the video.

I consider the Weber more stylish, the Rogue looks old school all around. When I heard it takes two hands to light the Weber, all I could think is, this is a Napoleon commercial. On the Weber you turn on the gas and use the same hand to hit the igniter and the burner lights. What I don't understand is why Weber went to separate burners, my very old Genesis Silver has them all tied together, just like the Rogue . I've read other reviews on the new Weber Spirit II e310 and saw quite a few complaints about the temp not going over 450 degrees if it was just a little cool outside. That made me a little squeamish about pulling the trigger today. I believe my old Weber is hitting between 600 and 700 degrees, I always bury the needle past 550 when I preheat for steak. I won't buy a grill that tops out at 450 degrees. I would appreciate any feedback on that point from Weber owners. I'm going to keep looking and asking questions, but right now I think I'm on track for buying an older used Weber in good condition and doing a complete rebuild.

Personally, I'm torn between the "Napoleon ROGUE® XT 425 SIB" and the "Weber Spirit SP-335". It seems that the Napoleon is about a hundred dollars more, but provides 5 years more warranty. The Weber has a gas tank scale, but the Rogue doesn't have anything. The Spirit's shape and burners have proven to spread heat evenly and cook really well. I have yet to find a good review of the Rogue's heat dissipation. I don't like that the Rogue has it's back almost half open to the weather, while the Spirit has just a small opening in the back. I like the Rogue's all black paint, and I worry the Spirit's stainless steel shell will look stained in a year. For another hundred bucks, I can upgrade the Rogue 425 to the 525 which would provide a 4th burner and a bigger surface. But the Spirit SP caps out at 3 burners unless you want to jump to the Genesis, and the Genesis is more expensive and doesn't heat up as fast.

Personally I Would take the better warranty and more cooking real estate. WE stock both if you need them! Also please subscribe to our channel!

Hey Gi Al, I'm in the same position. I'm torn between the two. Being in the UK, it will spend a large amount of time under a cover, so I'm thinking the Napoleon so I can fold the shelves down and we get a lot more wind - so the connecting burners helps too. But the Spirit Premium 335 seems like the superior grill especially with the Searing Station?! I will be doing mainly steaks through the year. Would you mind saying which you went with in the end and whether you were happy with it? Thanks Embers for the videos. Really helpful. Cheers A

@@adammc2247, Hi Adam, it took me six months to finally buy a grill. I think the covid shutdown caused me to pause on large purchases for a bit. But anyways, I got the Napoleon Rogue XT SIB 525. The 15 year bumper to bumper warranty that Napoleon offers just out does the weber's 1 year starter warranty, 5 year burner warranty, and 10 year frame warranty. But also, the Rogue XT offers a Side Infrared Burner that is awesome! The Infrared feature makes that burner from 700 degrees F to 1800 degrees F! Its almost dangerous. haha. But its so good for searing a steak so its juicy and for rapidly getting water to boil or steam some vegetables. Just have to keep it on the lowest setting or else it will burn stuff. But thats just on the side of the grill, so I love that it doesn't take up the grilling real estate. The jet starters on each burner knob is amazing. Also, I grill on a poorly lit deck, and I got this LED lamp made by Napoleon for Rogue, and it is truly amazing. The LED lamp is very similar to the Weber LED lamps, but when I bought the Weber LED lamps for an old genesis years ago, the water immediately destroyed the lamps. So far, the Napoleon LED lamp has held up well. Also, the Napoleon LED lamp really lights things up so much better. I paid $899 for the Rogue XT SIB 525, but $60 for the cover; $15 for the condiment tray add-on; $20 for the LED lamp; and $60 for taxes. Also, I bought it in a box. So I had to assemble it myself. I did it with just a single phillips head screw driver, but it took me about 2.5 hours. I dont like that the cabinet is open in the back of the grill. I dont like that the Side Infrared burner uses an battery electric starter while the rest of the main burners use a great mechanical jet starter. I wish they did away with the battery there. The grates are a little wide for my liking; but the sear marks are cool and wavy. The iron grates are really really beefy. My old Weber spirit had weak iron grates in comparison. These Napoleon grates will last a very long time, i can tell already. I have a bit of an issue with the way the magnet latch on the front doors are attached to the drip pan.... it causes the drip pan to be yanked a little every time I open the doors, which causes the drip pan to make a clang sound. I might try to put some sort of padding under the drip pan so that it won't bang against the grill everytime I open the doors. Oh, and I went with the ALL BLACK version of the rogue, which saved me $100 and also, it looks amazing. Its jet black with grey accents. The black washes easily and doesn't scratch like the stainless steel used to on my weber. It just feels really solid.
@gial8862
@gial8862 3 жыл бұрын
Oh, also realize, that the Side Burner takes up a shelf, so while the shelf can still be lowered, you would have to disconnect the burner each time, otherwise you risk essentially bending the propane line at a 90 degree angle and breaking it. So with the SIB connected, you really only have one shelf that can be lowered quickly and easily.

I know the video is a year old, but saying you have to use two hands to ignite the Weber, is just SO misleading 😊 Turn on the gas first, and then use the same hand to push the ignite button afterwards 👍🏻 Keep holding in the gasbutton, while pushing the ignitebutton with the other hand, is simply unnecessary!

I just bought the Weber SE version of the grill reviewed , comes with stainless cooking grated instead of porcelain coated. it does not take 2 hands to light the grill. You turn the knob to the ignite position then hit the ignite button all with the same hand. You can get the Weber with an enclosed cabinet if you want as well. Also the likelihood of wind blowing out your flame is low. Decent review though.

Went to replace my 3rd Char-Broil because the grill surface was not large enough to smoke a full Brisket ( I do not need anyone telling me I need a Smoker) my daughter saw a Napoleon RXT626SIB and pulled me over to see it. The Napoleon was made much better than the Char-Broil that I was looking at. I have a brisket on now and it is much easier to control the temperature and use the smoke box. Will see how it performs down the road. Those Weber users that are badmouthing about how to start the grill have OLD grills that can not be compared to a new one.

Embers Fireplaces & Outdoor Living in my opinion the build quality of the Weber is superior to the Napoleon. I had the Weber genesis and sold it when I sold my house. The new house I wanted to try the Napoleon prestige. It’s been 5 years since the purchase so maybe Napoleon has changed, but putting it together noticed a difference in quality. The Napoleon felt flimsier. Biggest difference is the Napoleon has no where near the even heat distribution that the Weber had. Very noticeable hot and cold spots on the Napoleon. I do like the infrared seat station on the Napoleon vs the side burner on the Weber though.

Im still between Weber and Napoleon. Napoleon warranty is just superb. Weber has market history while the Rogue's are still new compared to Weber's history, not much on the Rogue's long term performance. Several Weber owners with enclosed Webers are reporting serious rust on the base of their enclosed webers. This portion is only has a 2 year warranty with Weber. From reviews seems like the both perform well....but long term I think Napoleon wins because of warranty.

The Napoleon is more well thought out but one thing that you can't tell is that the Weber is much heavier and more well built and the actual cooking chest is much more well insulated on the Weber so it cooks more like an oven. If you spend less then 1500 on a BBQ Weber is much better but after that the Napoleon's are the clear winner. I have a Napoleon prestige and Weber has nothing to compare to it. My wife even demoed the cover on my seer station and Napoleon sent me a replacement no questions asked. They support their product extremely well.

When grilling burgers, no problem, but I do not want to stand out there rooted to one spot while my ribs are supposed to be cooking. I use grill grates and even then the left side will still flare up and burn your food. Low setting is to low for most food, and the mid level will STILL burn off. I bought this one because at the time Weber was still running burners lengthwise and you could not go indirect, it had good review, yada, yada. I would like to crap can my napolean and start over with the new redesigned the correct way Weber, but it is tuff to walk away from a 1200 dollar grill. I would never hear the end of it from the blonde. I have been grilling and smoking meat and veggies for many years. It's not the worst grill ever, but I would NEVER buy another one again

I like both of these grill about equally. I have the Weber E-335 but often recommend the Napoleon Rogue to friends who are looking for a quality grill. However you comparing the Napoleon Rogue to the Weber E-310 is a poor comparison. It should have been the Weber E-335. If you want to start all of the burners at once turn them all on and hit the igniter. All one handed if you insist. The Weber E-335 has at least 40% more storage room than the Napoleon Rogue. That's the reason for the tanks external mounts. Plus it has a built in scale. I am really surprised that someone who sells the Weber grills doesn't seem to know much about them.

WTF Why didn't you compare the 4 burner Napoleon with the enclosed cabinet to the 4 burner Genesis with the enclosed cabinet and sear station? Cause the Weber would have smoked it. Useless biased comparison.

Weber better quality ... also if one of burners turns off due to wind and gas is on ... burner will start up again when gas reaches next burner

The new Weber Genesis seems cheaper in every way except price - My 12 year old Genesis is still going. and seems so much of a better. Weber used to be made in the US - now made in china and hence the difference in quality. When it time for a new grill I wont be getting another Weber. Looks like Napoleon give you more for less.

I called Weber about the Genesis 2 and they told me the Genesis is made in Illinois and the customer service rep laughed when I told her I was checking to confirm they were made in USA and said of course they are. Some sites say they are made in China but other sites say the Genesis 2 is actually made in the USA, so I will do a little more digging. In saying that, Napoleon grills are made in Barrie Ontario and they source local Canadian steel and are Canadian made and very good quality. We still haven't decided which brand to buy though. Costco has the best return policy so even if the manufacturer doesn't cover an issue, Costco always takes returns even years later so buy Costco and if your not happy return it and try the other one :)

@@niner8259 china makes great quality, it all depends to the demands to the customer. the customer (weber) decides what materials are used and the quality assurance. it's US firms giving low build specs and quality to chinese manufacturers. you act like the chinese manufacturer decides these things. it's the greedy US firm that wants to cheaper builds to make more money. apple has all their phone made in china and the quality is high, same for xbox, and even japanese firms have stuff built in china.

It is very dangerous to keep gas tank inside the grill. Weber got this right.

The enclosed box is vented. It is not actually sealed tight. So the propane actually escapes. I was picking between both and like most people say the weber seemed better built, but the rogue was a much better oven. I ended getting a prestige, which I think is a better investment than all this. Its got the construction of weber (superior in fact to the weber), and the functionality is just so much better youd need to pay almost twice what the prestige series cost to get a comparable unit from weber.

FYI you can get a Weber genesis with an enclosed base like the Napoleon. You’re not comparing apples to apples between the two models shown here.

I just came back from Lowe's. I didn't get past the sturdiness of the Weber's lid, compared to the Napoleon's. I immediately ruled Napoleon out.
