@@Nelis1324 ye but u need to get back to the loot, lets say u die on a cliff that will always kill you when u slide down it, (happened on asmons stream) then the gear is unretrievable. Every time you run back up to the mountain where you died on a cliff side you will die to fall damage when u try to slide down it again to retrieve gear, you cant even run back up to build stairs to get to ur loot because it requires you to claim that building area and ur limited to 1 area claim

Narc is a seriously underrated content creator right now. The only reason he doesn’t have more subscribers is because Ashes doesn’t have as much hype as these P2W MMOs, right now. Really hoping Alpha 2 ramps up the hype and that Narc gains more recognition he deserves. Really glad he’s expanding his reach!

Very excited to play this game. Ngl, it reminds me a lot of a good mobile game I've played a long time ago, it's called "Durango: WIld Lands". Lots of similarities, from the plot sharing to the crafting leveling. We used to make put our clan enclave (the term called in that game, plot for pax dei) and personal enclave with each other to form a large city, in a map called "Civilized map", where there is no pvp. Just pure pve and community building. Also, for crafting, we used to spam craft to level up a certain skill. It also takes a lot of time to process ores and tanned leathers in Durango. It sometimes took 5-8 hrs depending on the quantity and a lot of pre-requisite materials processed in long durations too. That's why this game excites me since it's been a long time since I've played a game similar to Durango, and I've been searching all this time for it.

Holy shit this game is exactly what I was expecting from Ashes. I think I like it even more because of it's very slow pace, no overdone lighting, special effects or animations. Also gear progression feels real and you are not born or granted with perfect shining knight armor right away, like if looks to be the case in Ashes. Also I liked the realistic crafting and the chance that crafting something new can fail. I also liked the stamina bar for chopping wood, mining etc, so it gives you a feel of progression when you get a better axe or a better mining pick. The world feels dangerous and intimidating and therefore immersive. Thank you for showing the game and recommending it to Asmon, otherwise I'd miss out on that one.

The crafting/gathering sounds wonderful. It should be hard, the best will put the work in and should be rewarded for it. The rest of us can go around and kill things and have our fun in our own way, while a master crafter actually puts the work in and should be known throughout the world as such. Not everyone needs to be a master crafter.

Thanks for doing this. I was hoping to get into alpha just to see how it would work with my soloist gamestyle. I enjoyed my Alpha 2 experience but didn't get a chance to put in as many hours as i wanted. Any tips on finding gneiss deposits? I looked and looked and couldn't find any. Would have been nice rather then picking up rocks off the ground.

hmm, so... painful to play solo, endless grind for materials, timesink processing method, rng crafting where you can basically lose hours of work in a dice roll, and an overly punishing death mechanic that takes you back to square one... did i miss anything? this is basically everything a sane person does NOT want in a game... im definitely staying away from this one

definitely the last point. what I enjoyed in new world on opening was this, everyone was setting up camp, crafting basic items, litterally everyone was trying to get every node of herb, tree or rock there was. now its just ungathered and souless nodes.

For everyone complaining about the game being too grindy and hard, its the alpha guys, the devs themselfs said they will listen to active community feedback to make the game as good as possible since its a sandbox mmo, it means without a player base the game will just die since there are no npc whatsoever or quests like in normal mmos. Early access will come out this year spring, so expect may, june early acces ONE TIME BUY, after early access devs will decide based on player feedback how the monetarization will continue. Alpha is for hardcore gamers who take mmos serious and thats why only a few chosen people get to play it otherwise the game would be full of crybabies. So be patient guys, since the devs prepare a second alpha to launch as well. But i have to admit the chance of failure at crafting is pretty annoying, but lets see, if most of the community dislike that feature it will probably be removed since i doubt anyone will play the game when they spend 8 hours straight farming stuff just to fail at crafting and losing all their stuff...
