I was married to a narcissistic sociopath for 20 years. I divorced him 30 years ago. I came to realize, years after I divorced him, that when we met, I was already mentally damaged goods. The perfect narcissist prey. I've done typical counseling, but my issues were deep. Nothing really helped until I was treated for PTSD. That was the turning point for me. I will carry my mental scars till death. I have not been in a romantic relationship with a man in 30 years. I've had to rely on myself and that keeps me mentally safe knowing no man in my life = no mental anguish by way of abuse. He is still a living, breathing, horrible man. I have no contact with him. I have heard through the grape vine that he has not changed.

@The Real Miss Mia ....I hope life now blesses you Miss Mia. I see so many abusive men mistreating their wives and children. It's horrible. And now in the news, the poor girl that was stomped to death in an Iranian jail just because her hair was sticking out of her hijab. The women are now protesting to the max. They are so fed up. Some have ripped off their hijabs and shaving their heads in protest of the insane treatment of women. I bless them in their plight . I live in the United States, we are supposed to be protected from abuse of men, but you can't see the injuries, emotional wounds and scars these narcissistic men inflict. I have physically survived but haven't healed completely in 30 plus years. Sad.

My ex-husband did all of these things to me. It took me years of planning my escape but I DID IT without any support because in those days nobody ever talked about narcassists because their behavior was accepted as NORMAL. I THANK GOD for helping to give me courage and strength to walk away all on my own and never looked back. Zero contact was the answer...when he followed me and tried to beat me in a parking lot I had him charged. I wanted away from friends and family that were connected to him as well. I have since created a MAGICAL life filled with joy and true happiness 😊

I think all of us realize this that when we were faulted and minimized by these people, they were actually our greatest strength we were being faulted for. At least that was my experience. Between the mother psychopath, and the psychopath I married, they hated all the things that turned out to be my greatest strength and best assets about myself. True! The girl I was with was turely demonic.. now she was raised by her father, who was what I suspect was a narcissist, and was most definitely a abuser.. physically and mentally. I assume it sort of transfers to the child, like when someone who was sexually abused turns out grows up to do the same.. But that being said, it still isnt acceptable.. She knows that she is damaged herself.. she knows she has self-esteem/self confidence issues.. she always acknowledges that she has anger problems and can't handle or control her emotions. And after we've had a bad fight, and shes upset and crying and im upset and crying, she'll being up the fact that.. I CAN handle and are able to control my anger and emotions and am able to operate in life without constant outbursts and freakouts, so she says I should be the "bigger" person, or should be more mature and not snap back at her, or do the things that I and her both know will trigger these outbursts and general anger.. and in a way I do actually agree with that.. but the thing is.. she isn't doing anything to treat her mental health issues.. isn't taking medication... Doing drugs.. *meth *opiates Being the main substances. (we are both addicts, which OBVIOUSLY exasperates the whole situation ten-fold.) Especially methamphetamine. Im not sure what my point is.. I suppose im just telling my situation/story.. But your comment is so very true.. her eyes when shes in her anger/freakout mode.. oh my god is it truly scary.. I cant put it in better words then you have already.. Demonic. Souless. Evil.

@@brittanydw The biggest deception has actually been over worship. Specifically the day of rest. Remember the fourth commandment KJV is reminding us of Genesis 2:2&3. Jesus kept the seventh day sabbath rest even the forty days after His resurrection. It was roman emperor Constantine in 321 A.D. that “ changed “ it to sun day after generations of extreme Christian persecution. He “ thought to change times” because he was a sun worshipper! It’s satan’s attempt to usurp worship due only to our Creator God. We have all been deceived by the pagan sun day tradition. Jesus said don’t be deceived. And Come out of her My people! Sabbath is not sun day. This will be our last test. They will soon present sun day rest by Force of law as the “solution “ for all these current world events. Save the planet….. Jesus saves individuals. After we have all chosen Jesus or barrabus then the 7 last plagues. And Jesus returns for His faithful commandment keeping remnant church! Glory to God!

Not really. It's their reality. They have no feelings towards it one way or the other. They don't feel things the way you do. They are just repeating patterns they learnt long ago. We are also repeating patterns. Of abandonment, neglect, people pleasing, so we settle for this. Until we finally work on our own issues, we probably will fall into the same traps. Knowledge of self is top priority along with not abandoning ourselves!

Narcissists choose the best people to abuse until they don't - usually after we figure them out. Then, they settle for whatever they can get and ultimately find themselves with people just like them. Narcissists create their own karma trying to be yours. But, you didn't deserve that karma, even though you caught some of it by being in their vicinity. Once you choose you, karma is free to find its rightful owner, the one who created it. ❤🙏✝️

Well they can be both. They are both Borderline Personality Disorders. So yes there are cross overs and traits.

@@sandrabentley8111 no. He specifically underlined that psychopaths aka antisocial PD do gaslight, NPD confabulate. The difference being that NPD believe their own confabulstions and ASPD intentionally lie to make a person believe smth which is not and distrust their own feelings and conclusions - they gaslight

@@sandrabentley8111 BPD is smth completely different than NPD or ASPD, they both most definitely aren’t BPD, they all are Cluster B you probably intended to say or CPTSD 🤷🏻‍♂️

@@tptarh I always thought Narcissism was a Borderline Personality Disorder. NBPD

@@sandrabentley8111 well according to DSM 5, it’s not. And common sense suggests that if two disorders have two different names then those are different disorders. For example the difference is that BPD has emotional empathy while NPD managed to develop only cold empathy. BPD is a collapsed NPD, when a child as a response to absent mother tries to develop aggressive narcissistic defenses, gets confronted and has no other choice as to fall back and develop emotional empathy. But you are right they do overlap a lot.

Can you be a narcissist but not show all these signs. I had someone in my life but he wasn't raised to cuss or yell, he was feminine and weak.

Yes, the weak ones can be passive aggressive. It only shows when you get really close to them. To the public, they seem like harmless angels.
