CAN A PERSON BE “BORDERLINE” AND NARCISSISTIC AT THE SAME TIME?
@samvaknin2 жыл бұрын
Narcissism is not a part of BPD. Grandiosity is. BPD and NPD can be diagnosed in the same person (comorbidity).

@@JohnSmith-wo7ns This just happened to me after 17 years of ministering to a demon - what can kick this whole baloney into high gear is mistakenly telling them you love "them" and not "their body". . . In trying to repair my relationship, and seeing her trying to claw her way back into youthful good looks (cringey and alarming) I tried to grow close by telling her I didn't marry her for her looks, I married her for who she was . . . Since these people not only view everything around them as mere "objects", they KNOW they are mere objects with no sense of self, you've just set a bomb off . . . I just realized too late that my job was to be completely enslaved by her sex appeal, ever begging and wanting, all while being completely stripped of all financial independence and sucked completely dry of all currency, both fiscal and energetic. In writing this, I realize that, indeed, to successfully survive the psychic onslaught, you MUST be born as a Fearless Vampire Killer. These people are just like bears: they will kill you. Bwahaha! Be hard to kill and flow like water!

@@samvaknin How is it possible for someone to have two disorders that seem to be complete opposites, wouldn't the negative traits from one be offset and nullified by the other?

Thank you Prof. Simple and grounding to hear you emphasise the centrality to obtain Narcissistic supply. The optimum means to do so will be determined by individual and cultural constraints. Cultural constraints do differ somewhat between sexes in a thematic sense, although the individual factors will differ quite markedly and specifically.

Were you or your spouse narcissists? Or borderline? Narcissists breed other narcissists or borderline or bipolar kids.
@TeresaLeonard-Gilham-ly6kh11 ай бұрын
I often suspect that there are a good number of narcissists in the millennial generation. As one from the baby boomer generation who raised two children of the millennial era, I wonder how I have contributed to the problem by my parenting style. My two adult children are not narcissists. But I feel that their generation, in general, is quite selfish with some unrealistic expectations about their desired lifestyle.

Donna from Canada...I watched my mother, at the age of 70, assault someone for no reason as she was the aggressor, and if I had it to do over again, I would have let them have her arrested as the bystanders wanted. She is quite a bigot. She certainly needs to be charged. She is now 75, and I fear for my children as they are now her flying monkeys. Does this type of behavior get worse as she gets older?
@Vercanya2 жыл бұрын
From what I've read, it does get worse with age. I've also known some narcissists where this happened. They became even more closed-minded, even more self-centered in their later years.

I can't help but notice something that ties narcissism in women, antisocial disorder or traits in men and rise in child sexualization. Would it be possible to see this as an explanation to why men with existing mental health issues have started to distance themselves from women and go for those younger then them (kids, teens)?
@shinelil12 жыл бұрын
Their need for control and abuse. They can't control/abuse experienced (more mature women), so they prefer younger women (some as far as teens / kids).

Thank you. Such an important area of psychiatry and psychology to be explored and critiqued, yet again Professor, you’re out at the cutting edge with the confidence of your evidenced based convictions. I am pondering the many women with anorexia nervosa I have nursed in both psych and medical wards. I would really love to know your thoughts on this disorder in relation to the self harm aspect, in its life-threatening form. In my observations these women all display various types of narcissism and reading the medical notes made by psychiatrists initially assessing them, I see many, many references to ‘emotional parentification’ being present in their family dynamics. It’s almost as if the anorexic patient turns this back on the parent in adolescence by becoming the constant stressor as a defence mechanism? Or has huge role confusion at adolescence and experiences a developmental crisis at that point. Perhaps also influenced by socio-cultural factors in the society at large and its values and expectations around female beauty and power.

What an idea, that socialization has no impact in thoughts, beliefs, behavior. Women were in different life sheres in different roles, over the time of history. An NPD would be at the more humble, halfconservative educated women more covert, more 'dark' BDP(co.), versus times of women in normalized roughness, greed, extreme hedonism - there would be less victim role such an interesting thing and "I didn't know, what I did." all such a bit played weakness drama during pleasure inside. Being aversive(lazy there aswell) believing, like a not well prepared+ lack of control and insight teenager is an expectable product of this school of normalized life philosophy... "Let the girls dream around, fly, play with care and beauty, expression toys... Princesses" versus Boys(it differs) that learn logic or resilience, arguing, more often philosophy(versus women), or other more nasty, lowconscoius martial, capitalistic things of western/'modern'/archaic life. Some of their social beliefs are rationalizations, a "detour", but too much is basic their motivation, looking, framing compass. Would expect, very much cNPD women want to be seen as BDP CPTSD 'identity', actually with this social thought spirit around. And they learned well to believe in role identity, a false one, as a deep "normal thing" for example copying cool girls and boys, adults, stars, heroes, culture-race identity phantasy, horoscope roles, other role models. They believe and eat a lot for... To proclame it is detour, everything is this 'easy', BDP is just BDP is a mistake of some out there.

I would also say that there are much more female psychopaths than we expect. I knew 3 psychopathic wimen and 2 male psychopaths and can tell that the wimen have just a better mask. Even wimen on the autistic spectrum mask better to fit in, that's why we just don't see them until we have them close to us over some time. It's easier to see a narcissist or a BPD for what they are than a psychopath. I would also say that a psychophatic woman is more cunning and agressive than a man. She will manipulate and use the men to stalk and harm you - she will not do the dirty work her self. This man go in jail for her shity games and she stay "clean" and aut to do more harm to the next person....
