Im 63 and was married for 25 years to a narcissist wife. Our divorce was yesterday. I had no choice but to let her abuse me for 25 years, as I was never going to allow her to leave me. I had to protect my daughter from her. It's been soul destroying. But it's over. My daughter and i keep the family home, which I paid for. I offered the narcissist wife double the amount I should have for her settlement. A figure so high, I knew she wouldn't be able to turn it down.I'll have to remortgage the house to pay her out. But money has never been important to me anyway. The son of the narcissist wife, from a different dad, now lives with me in the family home.

@edwardhughes5389 , congratulations for surviving and getting back your life. I'll never understand why I was taught useless algebra, world history, and volleyball in school, but was never taught about narcissistic personality disorders. That would have been a useful, real-life education.

My Mom is a covert venerable narcissist. I am a twin, 41M, was/is her “scapegoat”, my twin brother is her “golden child” because he enables her delusions below and I am an engineer and am into physics/science and our father (who she divorced when we were 14) is a Physicist and that simply does not align with her delusion. She is a strange form of covert introverted narcissist that pretends to be “allergic to electricity” like Chuck McGill from BetterCallSaul, she is a “sovereign citizen” and thinks our laws don’t apply to her, and she also thinks Earth is flat and gravity is a conspiracy theory so you can see why her & I are estranged. Twin bro is her protégé and we have not talked in years. Narcissism is sad mental illness that is the most harmful to the people around them.

Absolutely 💯. In fact my husband actually feels joy if he does something to hurt me. He will say things thzt anyone else would have left years ago. But I can't leave for health and financial reasons. He knows it. I bet if I counted he's Saud I'm sorry at least 50 times over 15 years. And turns right around and do something just as hurtful again. It never ends just how you respond to it is all one can do. I'm no longer humiliated by his lies cheating flying monkies or his sabbataging everything I want to do for myself.

nope, just spoke with them on Saturday-instead of listening to what i had to say, they launched into some insane complaints, then i hung up. a call back resulted in threats and other nonsense, which i also hung up on. called the neighbor, spoke calmly to them, no issues. so, narcissism *and* misogyny in play.

I just escaped two narcissistic family members and no contact now so I am no doubt in the most testing period but your videos among others like Dr Ramani have helped me a lot over the years since learning about narcs. I will never stop watching because I know more on how to identify future narcs.

My husbunds court date is the 9th. I'm fearful of retaliation on his part. DANCO, is in place for me. For now I'm in the house with the kids. But I have little way to find enough work so I can pay all of the bills. We only have one car. So he will leave me to walk in -° weather. Sad and worry are just a part of being cut off from family, and stuck with a person who hurts you to show they care more about themselves. So sad and twisted.
