Sage has got to be one of the of the most genuine and straight up nicest guys in the entire entertainment industry. He responds to pretty much everybody that hits him up on his FB page. It's not often an entertainer will take it upon himself to let his fans know he appreciates them. He brought Nardwuar a fine cheese gift! That's the kind of guy he is. You are an exemplary human being, Mr. Francis.

Uncle Sage had like a 2 hour conversation with me when I was in a really dark place. He spoke to me like he's known me for years. It was something i'll never forget.

I effing love sage Francis...I'm a punk rocker but my buddy showed me his documentary and I immediately got personal journals and a healthy distrust in the early 2000's and I still get goosebumps listening to it. The man is a straight up poet.

I only know the most basic information about both of these but honestly watching them talk just shows how much both of these love hip hop and music in general. They treat it much more than sounds, they treat it even better than art, it’s a lifestyle to them. They praise it. Love to see that.

sage francis seems like such a good guy, I don't get why people hate on him so much. he's a hell of an MC, his shit is legit poetry
@idaadam54279 жыл бұрын
Agreed dude, I went to Rock the Bells, and he was booed offstage. I mean, he stayed on like a boss, but was basically booed off. People were throwing shit at him, it was fucking lame. These punks just wanted to see Mac Miller and whatever shit new rapper was coming out of Manhattan with a trust fund

i wanted to go to rock the bells, i just hate corporate mass gatherings with cops sprinkled in the whole mess.

I legit had no idea what you were talking about but then I read the comments. Those aren’t people, man! Fuck em. Their most redeemable aspect is that their tickets likely fed Sage for weeks whether they liked it or not.
@SaunterVaguelyDown6 жыл бұрын
Mind of the North Star I saw em live in NC not ling ago. Super chill. Came out in the crowd, signed tons of shit and took lots of pictures and was nice and never got annoyed even though people had to be bugging the shit out of him...

Godamnit Nard, why talk about DangerDoom and Ice T on a Sage interview? You should've thought this one out a bit more! He's already been asked about his set before Wu Tang. Why not ask about Non Prophets material, or his response to Immortal Technique calling people faggots?? Sage is as important to us as your Sonic Youth interview was to you!

I got that same B.O.X. CD. I had no clue who he was, but I collect any old hip hop I don't own. I also thought it was interesting to see Ras Kass on the back cover and being thanked in the inserts. Too bad he didn't rap on the album. It would have been interesting to hear some 1990/1991 Ras Kass.

it depends what i'm listening for. anything i hear, i'll judge whether i like the sound or not just based on how it sounds, but as a rapper myself i'd prefer to get a good rapping influence out of it especially if i'm listening to rap. and it takes more skill to use multis and still say cool, clever,or meaningful things(which is basically the other qualities i look for). that's why i try to have a playlist of rappers who at least use beginner multis and rap really well so i get influenced nicely
