I've got a 29 year old gelding in my barn who is a Nariadni son. My boy is a flea-bitten grey with HUGE eyes & a very quirky personality. Showed him western for several years. He is my "heart horse". Wouldn't take a million bucks for him. Thanks for the video!!

Thank you for uploading this. It moved me to tears to see him in motion, because it was exactly how I remembered Nariadni when I saw him in person 30 years ago. He was so beautiful.

How wonderful to see this video of Nariadni. I saw *Muscat be named US National Ch. Stallion at the 1980 Nationals. Nariadni's gorgeous liver chesnut coat and his magnificent large expressive eyes made him a standout. I always liked him just a bit better than *Muscat but they both were great sires. If you are lucky enough to own a Nariadni daughter, you have a treasure. Thanks to the Taylor family for their wonderful care of these two greats. Thank you for sharing the video.

I miss my heart horse. Whinny is up In Washington State. I left Washington last year to live here in Tennessee with my boyfriend, and there's been a sore spot in my heart when I think about her. She's prolly very happy. "I don't have ta work anymore! Awesome!" But I miss her. I miss my first horse even more. She died of Old age and Grey Horse Malanoma several years ago. She was the best first horse a girl could ever ask for. Never bit, never kicked, loved to run at top speed. RIP Garnet. RIP

Both him and Muscat were gorgeous stallions. However, two stallions really won't tolerate each other. They'll fight worse than tomcats.
@indigodragon06137 жыл бұрын
Janet Griffiths Not true. If they're raised like horses (in a herd or with mom and without human imprinting of isolation), stallions will get along just fine. Bachelor herds in the wild are extremely common. As long as there aren't any mares around, stallions can be kept together.

Though the horses in Muscat's lineage had great bone & conformation in general, they produce too much white. In fact, before Muscat was a champion in the U.S. there were no sabino Arabian horses allowed to be registered as purebreds. He produced so many goals with so much white on them they were having to be culled by the hundreds. Breeders who bred to Muscat were outraged & insisted their goals be registered as purebreds. Finally the registry had to relent & the sabino was added to the registry as a legitimate Colorado for Arabian horses but, that wasn't until the late 80's or early 90's. Many purebreds had already had to be registered as partners even though they were the proven get of purebred mares & stallions. Owners were cheated out of legitimately bred & often excellent foals being properly registered as purebreds due to some extra white on the foal sired by their stallion or delivered by their mare. AHA has a lot to answer for, as many breeders lost considerable investments. Some breeders were even forced to sell future champions cheap as part needs due to the registry's unfair actions regarding the rulings regarding white markings on foals proven to be sired by purebred stallions & out of purebred mares. The owners of these foals were penalized & caused to lose considerable amounts of money & future income due to the AHA & their short sighted rules. Then, the registry's reversal of those rules at the behest of wealthy & powerful breeders & owners, while leaving less powerful & wealthy breeders & owners get screwed & left with much less valuable purebred Arabian horses in the market place, as they're registered as partbreds rather than unique, special & beautiful purebred representatives of their breed they should be representing. The AHA actually owes considerable retribution to the breeders & owners they cheated out of rightful profitability they could've anticipated had their purebreds been registered appropriately so they could've competed, been marketed &/or sold for their actual value at the time, which was quite high.

Not true.... look up some of the Crabbet-bred/CMK Arabians, many sabino Arabians within the Crabbet lines. Breeders breeding to *Muscat were not outraged in the least, white is not penalized. If a breeder "had" to sell a foal wih white it was due to that breeder's prejudice against white. There were indeed sabino Arabians well before *Muscat and they were registered.
