Cricket when a wicket gets challenged: Audio tracking technology, ball angle tracking technology, other technology we probably don't even know about to ensure the correct call gets made. Baseball when a strikeout gets challenged: Lol you're ejected, it's my strike zone tonight.
@rep1600
@rep1600 18 күн бұрын
yep, depends on the country but australia always uses hotspot which is ablack and white view where the heat of the friction of the ball hitting the player/bat makes a dot, so it's used in addition to the audio tracking to see if the ball has been hit. also there is always a third umpire watching specific parts of the match. from what ive seen of baseball (mostly this channel) i do not understand why teams dont have reviews. give them each like two reviews for the match or something, if a batter really thinks a strike was a ball, let them challenge it. it's not like baseball is a fast sport, it's slower than cricket
@goodshipkaraboudjan
@goodshipkaraboudjan 18 күн бұрын
I'd love to see a limited amount of challenges/reviews in baseball like in cricket. The call is all on the captain on the field though so I guess it'd be down to the manger in MLB. Wasting a review is a big fail.

Yep - he should start a cricket channel - love his cricket breakdowns and eagerly look forward to it. Incredible - he understood the context very well - that Narine had saved up his last over for Stoinis - who could single-handedly chase down a big target. But Narine did err in his fielding placement - he should have covered the single down the ground to keep Stoinis on strike.

The only hard thing to understand is the over system. Imagine innings but instead of outs determining when your time is up it is measured by the number of hittable pitches. I don’t remember what it is but every X bowls count as an over. A quick game would be 20 overs per side. 50 more like the length of a long baseball game. Don’t even ask about Test cricket. That’s like smoking crack before you’ve tried cigarettes.

Yes it was only by the time of the Civil War that baseball overtook cricket as the predominant bat-and-ball sport in the US, due in part to the shorter overall duration per game (the main format of cricket at the time was unlimited-overs cricket, which can last multiple days compared to the approximate 3 hours of a baseball game).

Spinners in Cricket are like mages in league of legends, they deal magic damage, unlike fast ballers who does physical damage. And these attacks are super effective against certain batsman and less effective against others. Each bowler can only throw 24 delivers in T20 cricket. So a wise captain saves it for the best use case scenarios.

@williammarshall468
@williammarshall468 18 күн бұрын
On the left is the score at the top, big number is the team’s runs, small number is how many outs they have. Number below it is the amount of overs. Next to the players name is how many runs they’ve scored and how many pitches faced. The “to win” is how many runs the team needs and how many balls are left to be bowled.

@SoHighIFly
@SoHighIFly 18 күн бұрын
his over. In 20/20 cricket each bowler can bowl up to 4 overs. An over is usually 6 deliveries (providing no wides or no balls have been bowled) The better bowlers will bowl 2 or 3 overs early on and save an over or 2 to face the tail end of the batters as they usually arent as good. People who specialise in batting tend to be in the opening 5 slots, all rounders who are good enough at bowling and batter are the middle 2 or 3 and then the tail end where the people who specialise at bowling bat. If the batting side is doing well, the tail end usually doesnt end up batting which is why you put the worse batters there
@sanbuster
@sanbuster 18 күн бұрын
The bowler (or, using baseball terms, pitcher) has a maximum of four overs (or innings) that he can bowl in a match. The bowler in this game wanted to target a specific batter, Stoinis, because he has a poor record of getting out to this particular bowler. When the bowler completed three overs in this game, he intentionally 'saved' his last legal over and waited for Stoinis to be at the crease (aka on strike) before delivering that last over.

It’s due to the pitches - the pitches they are producing tend to be a bit two paced, and ‘grip’ a bit making the ball seam and turn a bit more than usual. This is especially true of most T20 pitches produced in the majority of the world, which are flat, even paced and usually have little to no seam movement or turn in them.
