Do I like the animation? Yes But I did not like the miscaracterization, sure, you can make characters more stupid n shit, but they just made Pantalone and Dottore wierd. And I don't mean that on a fun level. Sure, they can get creative with what secret fatui business they were secretly doing. That makes it fun. Weird jokes can be funny sometimes, but pushing that can make it just straight up wierd and uncomfortable. It makes it extremely off-putting for the fans, Especially when the people who like Pantalone and Dottore, (including me), rarely get good animations like this.

This feels just like adding more fuel for them to use to hate.
