Thanks! The video didn’t convey the look of absolute shock on my face when it rolled over a few times and fired right up! Lol.

Question. I found a Cub Cadet 127 (hydro) is it possible to build using it?
@karnesmotorsports Жыл бұрын
You can use a hydro. It won’t work as well as a gear drive. I know a guy that won a championship with a hydro. It was in an 850lb 12hp class. So It can be done but a gear drive would work better. A hydro would be really cool for a small kid that can’t push the clutch pedal so they could run it all by themselves. If you can’t find a gear drive, you could still build the hydro, then swap the rear axle to a gear drive in the future and wouldn’t really be out anything. Thanks for watching!

yes you can, for lower power id recommend a hydro over a manual, turn up the system pressure and shim the linkage and you'll be able to pull just fine.

Sounds good! Do the rib front tires help with steering?
@karnesmotorsports2 жыл бұрын
Thanks! They’re for looks mainly, and they’re light. If it’s weighted right the front wheels aren’t on the ground enough to steer it. Thanks for watching!

What brand name is that fuel tank and where did you get it?
@karnesmotorsports2 жыл бұрын
www.usplastic.com/catalog/item.aspx?itemid=31880 Gasoline eats the “rubber” seal in the cap. You’ll pick the remains out of the tank after 6 months. Other than that they’ve been great! Doesn’t really need that seal anyways.

This might sound like a dumb question but is the driveshaft connected to the flywheel side or the actual output shaft because I seen a video about clutch hubs and it said something about the flywheel side?
@karnesmotorsports3 жыл бұрын
Fly wheel side. The drive hub bolts to the fly wheel, clutch driver bolts to that.

What cam you using?
@karnesmotorsports3 жыл бұрын
I believe it’s an 18hp cam. That’s what I was told it was anyways. Doesn’t look any different than a stock 12hp cam. We’re not really allowed to make any internal or external modifications to the engine for this class.

@@karnesmotorsports i build single cyl kohler k series engines for pulling purposes, and i can tell you thats definitely a reground cam, good luck with it, be very careful with using that flywheel, it worries me, ive seen them explode at 4800 rpm , you need a heavier one for a governered stock class for your advantage
