The editing is phenomenal! Brings back memories of crossing with our kids 27 years ago. I held on to them for dear life as we crossed!

I can only imagine! If we’d had kids on boards they’d have been chained to the dinette! M
I first watched this video when it was published. Then just last month, we crossed the aqueduct ourselves in a 66 ft hireboat (then a couple of times on foot while moored in Trevor Basin for the night). Now revisiting this video, it undoubtedly captures the essence of the journey over this amazing structure so faithfully, it's like being there again. And with such supebly accomplished editing, this must surely be number 1 in the ranks of every Narrowboating video ever made, even including the BBC's Great Canal Journeys by Timothy West & Prunella Scales. Thanks for the memories, Jo & Michael.

Fantastic! My wife and I intend going full timing, first in a Motorhome then on a narrow boat. It’s videos like this that convince me we’re making the right choice.
@MinimalList5 жыл бұрын
It’s a great choice! It has some serious learning curves, but once you get round those bends it’s a good way to live, though with a motorhome you get the advantage of not having to worry about winter lock repairs. M

Phenomenal. Thank you both for sharing the trip! Perfect for a disabled housebound person like me to see the beauty of other cities and the rivers. @MinimalList5 жыл бұрын
Thank you! Yes I could imagine that living aboard would be a bit difficult, depending on the disability. There are quite a few accessible boats run by charities, and a few private ones that have been retrofitted, but they all more or less rely on having some able-bodied crew as well, as moorings are rarely all that accessible. That was so beautiful. The drone shots were incredible, but for me, it was the shots from the bow camera, with the beautiful green countryside all around and the hills in the far background. Reminded me very much of Pennsylvania here in the states. I was driving on the turnpike for the first time, headed to Maryland and as I came around a turn, I began to see the hills/mountains off in the distance. Brought back some wonderful memories.

@jeffreyplum52595 жыл бұрын
It is an impressive video. The country shots were lovely. the stern shots of Capt'n Jo' were awe inspiring. The drone just tied everything together, reaching beyond the range of your bow camera It reminds me of childhood trips to West Virginia on old US route 40. There would be solid rock on one side, and lots of nothing on the other. And that road was much wider than that ribbon of water. My hat is off to both of you gentle folk. I might as well hang it up when watching your work. My hat is off most of the time then anyway. Seriously, you take great video and put it together very well. God Bless you.

Wow! Just wow! A really fantastic piece of work. But I'm not sure that you really need a drone. It would be nice, no question, but at the end I watch your videos because of the stories and your talks and the outtakes and George. A drone could add up to that but at least for me the talking and the whole feeling of you both beeing on your journey is the thing that keeps me watching.
