I see you've got a rode mic. Mines not very good in wind. How's yours? Very posh cameras. I re-packed my stern gland just one piece of packing on top of my old packing and refitted the gland it's done the job till I get the boat out and do it properly. Cheers uncle Steve.

Hey Will my Rode mic ain’t great In the wind. The stern gland is ok now it still drips after cruising but not as bad as it was, but of grease and it’s fine 😊

Steve we had our relief valve go off on our first boat food grade pipe will not be good if it blows for a reason rather than the occasional drip. It had been piped in but not securely to the shell it filled the engine bay with water/steam. When they go off for a reason it’s very loud we thought the engine was trying to turn over. A rubber reinforced pipe as on your engine heating system is correct. Steve B. NB Fiddlesticks 👍✋

Hi Steve, yes didn’t think of that as I thought it would only be drips 😊👍 I can get some automotive pipe sorted 😊😊👍

Very good video. To me, and I certainly could be wrong, you look more comfortable doing these kinds of videos. Not that I didn’t like your cruising ones. Even though I don’t own a Narrowboat, nor would I be capable of doing the work you do, I find it fascinating. Hope your hot shoe idea works. BTW I was watching an old @ALiveFullOfMeaning Vlog the other day where they were interviewing @CaniceBannon and your name popped up with a couple questions for him. That was really cool. I do like his videos. I also prefer spring and summer and despise the short days and the amount of snow we get here. Looking forward to you working on the boat. Take care Steve and thanks for sharing. 🙏😊🤗 Kathy

Hi Kathy, Canice yes I really enjoy the videos Canice does and I’ve watched Linda from the start. I do love the diy side of doing my boat but I also love being out on the cut and enjoying cruising 😊. Thank you 😊😊👍

@@NarrowboatPreciousJet It could be as simple as these are the kind of videos that had me subscribe to your channel to begin with. IDK 🤷♀️ Doesn’t mean I am right.

Great video that gland picking looked a little small

There were only two types at the chandlers and the other one was really big and I didn’t think it would fit 👍😊

Thanks for this, very interesting.... do you remove the old packing before putting in the new ones or just put the new ones in as well? rob
@NarrowboatPreciousJet2 жыл бұрын
I’m not sure there was any packing in the stern gland before! So I just put the new stuff in and hoped for the best! Seems ok still drips a little after cruising but a twist of grease and it’s fine 😊👍

Sorry me again. As it leaves the fire hot it rises 👍. As it cools it falls so a 30 quid small one by the bed below pillow height is worth it. Carbon monoxide is a silent killer. 👍👍✋ BB Fiddlesticks
@NarrowboatPreciousJet2 жыл бұрын
Yes the silent killer and I worries the hell out of me now that I’m sleeping on the boat full time, good call and I will get one fitted lower down by the bed 😊😊👍

Still sorry always leave the nuts on while the boat is in the water if it goes you won’t get them back on. 👍
