But poor dude, he's finally found a team and friends and started sort of a normal life and been training so hard with Kakashi and on his own too and now he sees that it's still not even close to enough to beat Itachi (both him and Kakashi got beaten so fast) and on top of that having to relive that night again after so many years. Tsukuyomi doesn't necessarily last 72 hours. It's up to the jutsu user to determine the time spent. Also the jutsu Itachi used for escaping is Amaterasu, another Mangekyo sharingan jutsu like Tsukuyomi. You will know more about Amaterasu in Shippuden.

No. It's 24 hours and not 72 hours. But because sasuke born with a kekegenkai (sharingan), he's not feel that much of impact like kakashi felt. The fire jutsu name is a-ma-tha-ra-su (amatharasu). It's only perform by the mangekyo sharingan (the next stage of sharingan).

Nobody ever said that if you have Kekkei Gengai you will feel less of the effects. They only say if you have the Kekkei Genkai you can break the genjutsu, but if you go through it, like Kakashi did for 72 hours and Sasuke for 24, you will feel the consequences of whatever torture was used on you (or alternatively good things if the user wants you to experience). The difference between Sasukes and Kakashis torture is Sasuke witnessed unpleasant memories, while Kakashi was stabbed continously. Although the genjutsu will not cause physical trauma, your brain will have experienced all those stabs.

You hype Itachi in comparison to Sasuke. Of course he looks stronger but he was never stronger than Jiraya and he died at like 20 or something. Jiraya chose to die because he could definitely flee the fight where he died. Itachi didn’t fight anyone to justify the power level fantasy his fans make up. You can fantasize all you want but the dude only ranked above hebi Sasuke who’s basically fodder compared to the sanin. Orochimaru was dying when he fought him and he didn’t even kill him, neither could Itachi. Itachi is stronger. The Sannin have roughly the same amount of power, and Orochimaru stated that Itachi is far stronger than him so it would make sense that he is stronger than Jiraiya as well. Edit: according to the official Naruto databook Itachi and Jiraiya have the same stat, meaning they are equally leveled with eachother. But dont take these powerscalings to seriously because a lot of times they dont make sense (just as the powerscaling in DBZ/SUPER most of the time make no sense)

Jiraya wasn't asked to be hokage (like 3 times I think) for no reason. And Itachi wasn't praised by all his clan / village and the guys in comment section for no reason either. Hard to say who would've won that battle if they would go all in. Nevertheless, great reaction man, really enjoying this, and I hope sasuke and kakashi get up soon, emotional trauma sure isn't easy to take.

Itachi's true strength is orders of magnitude above all three sannin combined. The show isn't perfect and there are a lot of things they say now that are changed later in terms of power level. The entire series has several plot holes to be honest, but we still love it.

For the question "how strong is Itachi". The answer is simple, he can battle and hope to win with any character in Naruto universe (except two or three character, only because they didn't considered as a ninja but as God level tier).

Kaguya, Rikudo, Madara, Obito Naruto, Sasuke, Kakashi with 2 Sharingans and Guy in 8 gates just kill him with the first blow, Itachi does not even react to the speed of their movements. Minato with the power of Kurama and Hashirama crush Itachi with bare power and kill him with his first serious attack. 2 Hokage, Nagato, Oonoki have very big chance of killing Itachi (Hokage due to speed, Oonoki due to flight and Jinton's beam, Nagato can kill Itachi with Chibaku Tensei or Shinra Tensei. What the hell are 2 or 3 characters?

Itachi will not have time to use Susano, and even if he succeeds, Susano will be destroyed in a couple of seconds. And intelligence will not help him here. Intelligence will help him against 4 Raikage and Oonoki, and not against Naruto at the peak (and not even at the peak, all the same, the Biju Bomb will dust him).

As chamas pretas que o Itachi lançou é Amaterasu que significa ( Fogo do inferno ) esse jutsu só é possível para quem possuir o Mangkeyou Sharingan, uma técnica que consome muito chakra e exclusiva do clã uchiha. Jiraiya is you can see is not one to mess with. He's equal to Itachi. In the Manga Itachi says they would harm or kill each other badly and Kisame says he's on another league from him (and Kisame is a beast too). This is supported in the official databooks in which Jiraiya and Itachi's overall stats are the highest ever recorded to date (higher than Orochimaru's) and completely equivalent (It doesn't have stats for everyone but the usual cast like Itachi, the Sannin, etc) and those making excuses for Itachi just not wanting to fight have a big coincidence as to why the stats are completely equivalent. Btw it's listed author is Masashi Kishimoto and is published by Shueisha (its Subsidiary is Viz Media). As for the black flames, notice Jiraiya can seal it but let's just say Jiraiya is being cautious as he's never seen it before then but there's another reason but is a spoiler. As for Amaterasu notice he mentions it in the same vein as Tsukiyomi this gives you a huge clue to its status. As for Lady Tsunade the symbol on her back is "Kake" meaning gambling. The Manga says Itachi had him in there for 24 hrs not 72.
