This fight was awesome because I think it took me by surprise. The war arc just started to get good and the focus was totally on Madara at this point and then all of a sudden bam, we get an isolated fight of Kakashi vs Obito which was cleverly done inside their shared realm so that they both can't use Kamui. It seems obvious now given the story but it really was a sneaker.

The Team 7 vs Haku/Zabuza fight embodies the core themes of Naruto in fact more than any other fight I’d argue it’s theme survived. For those who don’t remember after Haku’s death Zabuza drops a gem in which he states Shinobi are either users or tools sometimes both which is exactly what we discovered in the war regarding Obito, and Madara manipulating others as well as being used by Zetsu.

An underrated fight that I don’t see anywhere here, Shikamaru vs Hidan 2. Admittedly not nearly as action packed or fun viewing as most Naruto fights, but full of emotion with brilliant tactics. Shikamaru flicking the lighter is one of the defining moments of Shippuden for me

3:50 I still tear up when Naruto channelled his chakra out of love to protect Sakura, even though, she didn't love him and even after that she really thought that it was Sasuke who saved her. Naruto showed great promise in that fight and even Sasuke saw that.

I loved the Kurama transformation in the Gaara fight and it kinda bugged me that Naruto never turned into actual Kurama, he only ever uses the chakra avatar, I thought for sure that transformation into the full Kurama, even if a fake one, was a sort of glimpse of what's to come in the far far future, and that eventually, if Naruto ever did work together, he would turn into Kurama the same way Bee turns into Gyuki.

Had a thought: Kakashi got Obito's Eye of Insight and Obito kept his Eye of Illusion. Kakashi went on to become renowned for his ability to copy jutsus and Obito cast a regular 3-tomoe genjutsu so powerful over Yagura it sparked the worst of the Blood-Mist Village. Were these Sharingan so powerful at their respective domains because of Obito or because the two respective ninjas were focused solely on those abilities? I imagine it is similar to training one Eye more than the other, similar to Daedara training one eye to be genjutsu-resistant.

Kakashi did used genjutsu against Zabuza, and if I am not mistaken, it's in their fight where he explains the two eyes. But I guess kishimoto just didn't want to make genjutsu super common so he never used again

- the first season fight with Zabuza and Haku was the best for me. It was amazing and tactical and suspenseful and they didn't end up relying on just who throws the bigger energy ball. Just the purest of Naruto before it became clear there was no plan and they resorted to cyborgs, clones, moon aliens and who knows whatever else they will reveal next.

My Top 5 list: 1) Naruto vs Sasuke (final valley fight) This was the fight that everything led up to. Not only did it look incredible but the story was too. It was a battle of ideologies. Sasuke's pursuit of power due his inferiority complex was being tested against Naruto's power gained to protect his friends. Both of them wanted to be Hokage, except it was up to Naruto to prove Sasuke's reasoning to be flawed. The two of them contrasted heavily, with this fight being full of themes of duality, revenge, family and the classic anime power of friendship. 2) Kakashi vs Obito This fight was mostly silent and that was perfect. This fight was one of the rare times in anime when a fight is completely story driven. It had an emotional story to it. The duality of Kakashi and Obito is mirrored with Naruto and Sasuke. The dark past fought the hopeful future. 3) Naruto vs Pain We watched everyone die to Pain. He was a god, until Naruto showed up and destroyed him, but even when Naruto was totally destroying each of the Paths of Pain, he was losing to Pain's talk no jutsu speech. We watched Naruto not have an answer to the words of his enemy. This was the fight that cemented Naruto as Hokage. My favourite part of this fight was the start with Naruto's badass entrance and also the end when Naruto gave Nagato his answer, which was hope for a better future without a cycle of hatered. 4) Lee vs Gaara This one was iconic. It was Lee expressing his springtime of YOUTH! This was a fight between a broken monster and goofy kid who NEVER stays down. Might Guy taught Lee an incredible philosophy that we can all use in our daily lives. Never accept defeat and see it as way of improving. Lee made Gaara, who was a terrifying monster, scared. 5) Zabuza and Haku vs Team 7 This fight made me fall in love with Naruto. This was it. The entire point of this fight showed Naruto, Sasuke and Sakura their true enemy. It was not Pain, Obito or Madara. It was the entire system of the Shinobi World itself. Experiencing this fight was when Naruto first developed his first good reason to be Hokage, it was to change the world to save others like Zabuza and Haku. Sasuke forgot about killing Itachi because his mind was compeletely overtaken with desperation for survival so much so that his body moved on its own to take a hit meant for Naruto. Sakura woke up to reality and realised just how weak she was because she was only human just like Zabuza and Haku. During the 4th ninja war, Kakashi thanked the reanimated Zabuza and Haku for being the first opponents for his Team 7 because that fight had lasting impacts. HONOURABLE MENTIONS (no particular order here): 1) Naruto vs Sasuke (first Valley of End fight) 2) The Sasuke retrieval arc (Choji, Shikamaru, Kiba and Neji's fights) 3) Might Guy vs god (Madara) 4) Minato vs Obito and Kurama 5) Sasuke vs Itachi What do you think of my list? Naruto HAD a BUNCH of HELP… Pervy Sages Death, Kakashi’s DEATH… all HUGE fights to give him info on PAIN.. not to mention Naruto had a bunch of TOADS fighting with him. Hinata came to save him. I must say that I never really liked much the final Naruto vs. Sasuke fight. I really liked how they talked and their trip down the memory lanes which watching each other's past selves but not the fighting itself. Yes, it was beautifully animated but it wasn't Naruto anymore, it was DBZ light. In comparison to this I like the first Final Valley Naruto vs. Sasuke fight and the hospital roof fight much more.

The valley at the end fight shows that the Rasengan is stronger than the Chidori again because Naruto used a base rasengan vs Sasuke's amped up chidori. And Naruto never had a killing intent.
