Itachi is forever goated!! I loved the fight, it was amazing. It's also crazy how strong Itachi really was, considering he was essentially on his last legs in this fight it was revealed the he took medication to stay alive long enough to give Sasuke a proper fight. Also give major props to Crispin Freeman as Itachi's dub VA, I always enjoyed how he gave both a calm yet intimidating presence (well at least in my eyes lol) Your reaction to the pain arc is going to be insane, cannot wait to see your reactions

It's really cool to see how Naruto introduced Killer Bee, right after Sasuke says "I will destroy the village", alot of hate from viewers was shifted to Sasuke, Kishimoto capitalised on that and introduces a character which would put Sasuke in his place.

the idea behind Sasuke's revenge thing is really interesting and makes a lot of sense conceptually: He lives his entire life for revenge, he doesn't know how to function without it. He was already going to be lost and undertain after killing Itachi, but learning that Itachi was never evil and did all of this to protect his brother? Sasuke's entire life was literally revealed to be a lie, so he lashes out irrationally at the first thing he can think of, which happens to be the leaf village. Only issue is, Sasuke never loses his 3cool5u attitude: the series doesn't do anything to actually *illustrate* that Sasuke is losing his mind and becoming completely unhinged, even though his actions are straight up the actions of a crazy person. Him being so calm and stoic while doing something so irrational and ill-considered doesn't make him look like a grieving teenager with a bad coping mechanism, it makes him look actually unintelligent.

Itachi is truly the goat. The fact he was sick, nearly blind, and went easy on Sasuke and yet showed so much power is truly amazing. He easily had Sasuke defeated when he hit him with the Tsukuyomi yet pretended Sasuke was able to escape it just to make Sasuke believe he could win and to lure out Orochimaru - amazing. Actually, it was stated in one of the data books that Sasuke genuinely broke out of it. Itachi went all out in his crippled condition, if he didn't he wouldn't have been able to push Sasuke to the brink.

Susanoo vs giant eight headed snake is literally straight out of shinto mythology, It's kinda like how O Brother Where Art Thou? is basically the odyssey, or the lion king is hamlet. The totsuka blade and the Yata mirror are 2 of the 3 Japanese regalia. And if you recal Kizaru also uses them for his attacks. The Magatama is the 3rd. I think he uses that attack against whitebeard.

As someone that only watched the dub of Naruto when it was airing, it's funny to think back to when I first saw Sasuke vs Itachi. It wasn't in the anime, but in Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm 2. The english dub of the anime was a couple years away until that fight still. Not to mention all of the pain arc in the game as well that we didn't get to see for an extremely long time after too. The games always were ahead when released.

I'm not excusing Sasuke's actions, but I hope you can come to sympathize with him. Most of his life he's lived for the singular purpose of killing Itachi, and now that he's lost that purpose he's essentially going through an existential crisis. He's looking for someone, ANYONE to blame for his horrible pain and trauma. We really shouldn't underestimate that trauma. Right now, he sees his vendetta towards the Leaf as putting Itachi's life before the village just as Itachi did for him.

Kirin was foreshadowed in the tenchi bridge arc when Naruto found sasuke. Sasuke was gonna use it against Naruto sakura Yamato and sai, but orochimaru stoped him. sasuke was literally gonna kill them.
