When itachi threw himself off the cliff he was testing orochimarus theory of “life has no meaning”. His test was simple, if he hit the ground and died then this would be true. But Something inside him chose life instead, he chose not to die. Which meant the meaning of life was more complex than “it has no meaning”, he concluded no one wants to die which in turn leaves him with the possibility that there is a meaning of life.

According to the third Hokage, Itachi was able to think like a Hokage at the age of seven (indicates intelligence and wisdom). He witnessed a great ninja war at age 4. No wonder he is nihilistic at this early stage of life. I have been there. The only way to prevent yourself from being suicidal is to manage your thoughts(try your best to avoid these dangerous thought experiments that you are doing with your sanity). Even if in the grand scheme of things, everything is meaningless, you don't always have to look at the bigger picture, that the ignorance sometimes is truly bliss. We have the ability to assign meaning to anything. If you want, even the sports, a bunch of made-up rules that a group of people follow for a certain short period of time can be meaningful .

The reason is because the whole Itachi Shinden novel is actually what Itachi showed Sasuke after they defeated Kabuto when he stated “I’ll show you the whole truth this time” he used his genjutsu to show Sasuke his entire life, this is why Sasuke switched his philosophy to wanting to be hokage as that was young itachi’s dream

So ive seen some comments and some of you dont get it. So itachi saw war at the age of 4 blah blah blah. Then he started asking those big humans questions. Not because he is nihilistic or depressed, because he really wants to understand why people go to war to end each other, why people has children, why people wants to live in that world etc etc. So when orochimaru said to him life has no meaning he said ok lets see if life has no meaning, then he jump off that cliff and realized that nobody wants to die, meaning that what orochimaru said to him was fucking cap.

Minato earned the title Yellow flash of the leaf! The hidden stone had a flee on sight order for him! I'd say he earned the position of Hokage and it wasn't given to him for nepotism. Granted I will be the first to point out that all the Hokage are connected to each other either by blood or training or both, but they still had the skills to warrant getting the position. The thing about the Uchiha is that even though they faced some pretty hard discrimination from certain parts of the village, both from the leadership and the grunts and citizens, they did nothing to try and change those people's points of view. Itachi said it, they refused to adapt to the changing times like the other clans and cared almost solely for their own instead of the village as a whole. They thought that since they were one of the 2 founding clans, and among the strongest out there, that they immediately deserved more power and influence even though the founding idea of the village was for all clans to come together in peace and work together as equals.

@@jarvisfowlkes3200 The Uchiha got a raw deal no argument, but all we see is them begrudgingly following and accepting the crap orders and discrimination, which eventually leads to some venting out in public which hurts their case even more, and being angry that they aren't getting the respect and authority that they believe their great clan deserves as one of the founders, which eventually leads to them deciding to take everything by force, which even if their revolt had been carried out wouldn't have solved anything and likely only made things worse by confirming the prejudice against them. Honestly, I think it was their pride that was their downfall. Itachi said it again when he talks about their pride in their abilities and clan blinds them making them feel superior to their fellow leaf shinobi who are supposed to be their comrades, not lessors. It also prevents them from being willing to compromise and actually integrate into the village like the other clans.

@@patricktorres1292 1st, Boruto is a sequel, by definition the previous works it follows has ended thus my point stands, 2nd Boruto wasn’t written by Kishimoto until volume 14 (from issue 52) meaning all appearances of Sakura from the end of Naruto until vol 14 of Boruto are someone else’s interpretation of the character so to me anything about her after Naruto is irrelevant as she is not written by the original author, it would be like comparing the GOT characters from books with the show, they would not match up as they are not written by the same person so changes happen that the author may not have wanted or intended for the character. And as she hasn’t appeared in any real capacity since #52 unlike other characters from the original series that speaks volumes. To me her development as a character is on par with that of Ino, when you consider that she was part of the main cast and yet has no real feats until the final arc and even then she could’ve been replaced by a Shizune or Tsunade and had the same impact on the story, unlike other supporting characters and antagonists then yeah I can say she is irrelevant, that’s my opinion and your welcome to yours and I have not issue with yours being different to mine. I think she is literally the 2nd worse written character in the entire series only saved by TenTen and I’m entitled to that opinion based on my years reading the source material, if you feel differently, which you clearly do, that’s fine as liking a character of fiction is entirely personal as it’s based on interpretation of the works, comparison to other characters and individual taste. You saying “Imagine still being a Sakura hater in 2022” is as relevant as someone else saying “Imagine still being a Sakura fan in 2022.” In comparison to other characters development and actual contributions to the story in Naruto alone let alone compared to other lead female characters in similar works I find her as I say annoying and irrelevant.

If there were 20 episodes that each showed a different person's dream in depth, that would have been awesome. Instead, it was 2 episodes of TenTen, 2 episodes of Killer B, 1 depressing ass episode for Karin, and then 19 episodes all about a book that Tsunade was reading inside of her dream. They weren't even about her dream itself, it was a whole arc about a hypothetical story of Naruto and Sasuke written by Jiraiya. It added nothing.
