one of the greatest scenes ever. They way they cultivate the backstory, and the music... It's really not that different from RL - a lot of people get hurt and then get jaded from that pain, and then they become exactly like what hurt them. The moment chooses to accept they were in the wrong and move forward, no matter how many years it's been, is a really touching moment. It's like an awakening, the answer's been right before you this entire time but you've ignored it knowing it was the truth, but it was just too painful to accept and move past and keep your idealism. the fight not might not have been the most well animated but jesus feels christ... Things aren't so cut and dry. Pain had a brutal life that twisted him into such a terrible person, so he does deserve sympathy. However that's no excuse for killing his mentor. It's a very in-depth background that shows how good the writing for the series was.

Naruto was right. Both Nagato and Jiraiya were similar in their world view. They were too passive to change things. Nagato was okay with continuing the cycle of hatred by destroying Leaf village. While Jiraiya preferred to be Pervy sage and not take on the role of Hokage. Even when he was dying, Jiraiya was despondent at the fact that he did not achieve anything great in life, like the previous hokages. Naruto was the one who inspired them to never give up in changing things for the better. Jiraiya only realised this when he remembered Naruto’s words as he was dying. Naruto did the same thing to Nagaro here. Basically, Naruto instilled courage in both Jiraiya and Nagato - who were too passive to take risks and only relied on their godly powers to achieve big things.

Erm Yahiko isn’t only a casual friend to Nagato. Nagato sees him as family, as his hope for the world and his dream. Just imagine you lost all your parents, continued to lose another loved ones, and all your misery somehow related to Leaf Village, to the wars they fought in years. Nagato didn’t think of revenge Leaf Village for his parents but Yahiko’s death reached his limit, he couldn’t bear more and… yeah we got Pain
