Shikaku is one of my favorite characters! He subtly guided his son in everything in life including supporting Shikamaru's friendship with Naruto. And Naruto would never join Obito but he may freeze up for a bit and possibly lose his life.

I see you guys were wondering why Orochimaru is doing what he's doing now. Here's my interpretation. He was too arrogant against Hiruzen, toyed around and lost his hands, big nerf for him. In Akatsuki he underestimated Itachi, looked him in the eyes carelessly and got humiliated. Then during Itachi vs Sasuke fight, was so confident that he got Itachi beat and Sasuke's body was his, but got caught off guard by Totsuka blade and "died" again. His arrogance was his biggest weakness on his way towards his goal, his research of all jutsus and all knowledge in the world. This time when he got revived, he knows he gotta be more chill now. I mean why not, Sasuke wants him to use Edo Tensei, in the process he can get his hands back and an op Zetsu body. As he said when he got revived, he wasn't strong enough to take Sasuke's body from him. You could say now that he got his hands back and got a new op zetsu body made of Hashi cells(can use Sage Mode with a strong body) and got edo Hokages under his control he can attack and quite easily take Sasuke's body right? But there's also the fact that if Madara and Obito succeed, he'll just be dreaming forever, his goals and research all gone... .

Great take, I think also seeing kabuto basically reaching orochimaru true dreams and goals and him seeing that, despite all that it was still futile, making him realize that what he was seeking may not be what he actually wants and getting that info from when he absorbed kabuto chakra and memories He kind of finalized that decision.

@@NeverBoredWithGeorge Kabuto didn't really achieve his goals though, sure he pretty much perfected Edo Tensei and got Sage Mode but that's just a little part of Orochimaru's goals. He wanted Sasuke's body with Sharingan and overall the ultimate knowledge of the world. I highly doubt he gave up on his goals. He just saw Kabuto make the same mistake he made before and not once. Be full of himself with all the power and still get defeated somehow. His own experiences and seeing Kabuto, made him change his approach towards his goal I'd say, instead of giving up on it.

Not a retcon, okay. More like a loose string at the end that there was no way to pay off satisfactorily so it gets handwaved. Brody just hit the reanimation jutsu and the Reaper Death Seal with two simultaneous loopholes (That he could've abused to get what he wanted this whole time He just didn't KNOW til now how fucking convenient). Then this motherfucker gives up on his lifelong dream to become immortal and destroy the Leaf because he sat in the drunk realm for an eon and meditated until achieving ego death. AND THEN he walks away scott-free, mass murderer/attacker of the Hidden Leaf, rogue nin spepcializing in Forbidden Jutsu and a founding member of the Akatsuki and gets a free fucking pass. Meanwhile Sasuke was loocked up for killing a few samurai and Danzo's corrupt ass. Like where's the justice, tf. It's the right thing to do, Madara and Obito are the real antagonists now (don't talk to me about the rabbit bitch at the end). So obv there is no tension in having Orochimaru do some fuck-shit at the end now. But don't tell me the man didn't get hand waved by Kishi. Four Hokage being back is great, the way it's done is lazy ass writing. @@The__Deadman

I'd like to give you my perspective on why it wasn't stupid for Obito to ask Naruto to join him and Madara. It is true that Naruto has an unbreakable will but he never experienced the death of someone close to him in front of his eyes. Pain/Nagato was the first person to make Naruto doubt, it's true that Pain, killed the toad who taught Naruto Sage Mode in front of his eyes, but that bond wasn't as close nor did they know each other for as long as it was with Neji. Nagato makes Naruto see the reality that Konoha is as murderous as all the other villages and that it is unfair that only they go around proclaiming the ideal of peace, but we as viewers it is difficult to understand at first, because it is the village of the protagonist and other beloved characters. Obito is the first person to make Naruto almost give up, he made Naruto experience what he went through when Rin died in front of his eyes in the middle of a war, as well as Neji. The difference is that Naruto had people by his side to make him see reason, but Obito did not. As with Pain's speech, it is difficult to understand at first the villain's motives because we are attached to the protagonists, but Obito was right in my opinion since he is the perfect example, Konoha did not go to look for his body even though he is an Uchiha and that clan is an important military resource, not even to give him a proper funeral, the world forgot about him from Obito's perspective.

@@NeverBoredWithGeorge thanks, Obito is a complicated character, he is not a character you can be indifferent to since he did several things. The author doesn't explain directly as he did with other villains why Obito did what he did. And I think that was the right way because war traumas are not easy to understand unless you experience them. Nagato is the clearest example but Obito takes it to another level as he abandoned everything and nothing of this reality makes sense to him. I honestly liked that they wrote Obito that way, because it makes you think over and over again, reread or see again his appearances or dialogues, it's what you expect from someone who caused so many things: that his motives are not so easy to understand. I don't think you can expect anything else from someone who is traumatized for decades, Sasuke's mentality declined for a few weeks or months at most, but Obito at least 2 decades. I don't justify what he did but I feel sorry that Kishimoto created such a deep character and many fans label him as a simp xD

"ohhhh nooo...Neji died. How...awful" Was me when I first saw this. The side characters in this show are some of the worst side characters ever. They're too fricken boring. Well, out of the side characters on the show, Neji wasn't the worst. They should have killed off alot more of them and kept a few to give them something of an arc of grief and pain to work through and become stronger. This show is too one dimensional, and Ten Ten should have died first.
