The old monk isn't what's possesses Gaara. That giant Sand Raccoon thing named Shukaku is what's sealed inside Gaara and can "possess him". Gaara's mom's spirit is somehow mixed into the sand that automatically protects Gaara, which he carries around in a gourd...so his mom protects him even in death.

In these two chapters a lot happens: Gaara losing the only family member who truly loved him, Naruto giving all his effort to protect Sakura for nothing (Naruto, let her go) and Sasuke seeing how much she has improved compared to him and wondering if he it's Naruto (min 22:00 I stopped that scene the first time to count how many Narutos there were hahaha); random things: The Multi Shadow Clones jutsu uses too much chakra when making the clones, so the amount it creates is surprising, even if you think it could be due to Zorro's chakra, Naruto has the ability to do it himself. Waiting for the next chapter

Gaara - "Ga" mean "self", "a" mean "love"/ "loving", "ra" as in "Ashura" - a type of half-god/ demon,... in India, China, Japan,...

Just to clarify, the literal meaning of Gaara should be "a self-loving (a)shura." In Buddhist lore, an (a)Shura is not necessarily a "demon", but rather a mythical or semi-dvivine being that often walk the rough path to self-elevate. There's no perfect term for the concept of (a)shura in western culture, at least to my knowledge. I take it as Gaara's mother knows he's gonna have a tough life, but he would end up excelling in this tough life, when he loves himself.

Super mild teasing spoiler: It's funny how we don't actually have any idea how impressive the Shadow clone jutsu is until much much much later.

There's actually already almost enough info to figure that out, but it's something only Naruto could do on that scale anyway. Multiple shadow clones is a forbidden jutsu for a reason (forbidden Justus sometimes risk killing yourself). Regular genjutsu clones use yin Chakra, shadow clones use Yang chakra...cant say more than this because it's borderline spoiler. Jiraiya explains how Naruto's seal works (basically, Naruto's Chakra will never reach zero, because Naruto's own Chakra is what prevents the Kyuubi's chakra from leaking). Kakashi explains to Sasuke what happens when someone's Chakra reaches zero...hence why its suicide for anyone else to use multitudes of shadow clones, and why it's a forbidden technique. Here and there they explain shadow clones. E.g. When Sarutobi refrains from using them. When Naruto fights in the forest of death, etc.
