Not sure if they read comments, but i feel like the others didn't explain what a filler is correctly. So for the dude in the middle: a filler episode doesn't mean it never happened. In the anime those things definitely happened and are 100% real, but it's not part of the original manga story. They normally don't affect the endgame or the story progression at all, which is why it's okay to skip them completely, but they can be mentioned here and there during canon episodes of the anime. It's rare but it can happen. In the manga however, they never happened. Filler episodes and arcs are created to pad the story for several reasons, the main ones being 1) to stop the anime story from surpassing the manga and 2) to make more money (more episodes = more time on the air).

I feel like Naruto is a rare anime with plenty of great fathers. Shikaku, Choza, Minato and also father figures like jiraiya, Gai, Iruka, Hiruzen even Kakashi and Asuma. Most Anime dads are terrible or absent. Naruto got fantastic dads and father figures and one great mommy

so when Carter looks confused here about how fillers work. im just gonna inform y’all this, Fillers are pretty much mostly about events that occurred during them doing missions, it’s like showing the characters’ abilities and development on how they do their jutsu, interact with people etc. i know sometimes fillers can be such a pain in the ass but imo it’s worth it to watch them for a perfect understanding of this show and PLUS if ure not in a hurry too

I really like Konohamaru's voice it made him so endearing and I understand his POV a lot. I also like how he used to hate being known as "hokage's grandson only" to being afraid people will forget him being a grandson of the third hokage. Tbf that was a bad place for filler. Sasuke is traumatized by Itachi but then is out the hospital happy to see Tsunade be hokage and goes on team mission like everything is fine. At least with the Kakashi mask episode you can tell it's purely a gag episode.

13:20 "Ho-kage" means "fire-shadow" leader of the ones who carries the will of Fire (Fire is kinda religious symbol/ideology of "the Land of Fire" that gather villagers under the same roof of belief). "Konoha-gakure no Sato" means "Leaf-Hidden Village" because the village is hidden by leaves of the forest but the country it resides is the Land of Fire (Hi no Kuni) hence the "ho-kage". There is also "Kaze-kage" we have seen which means "wind-shadow" who carries the will of wind because it resides in the Land of Wind (Kaze no Kuni) but their village is called "Suna-gakure no Sato" which means "Sand-Hidden Village". Fire shapes leaves of the forest and wind shapes sands of the desert. I remember they showed a map but I don't remember if they have talked about other countries, their hidden villages and Kage's yet, so I won't tell those right now. But my point is, the title is not for the strongest ninja but with the strongest will. You need strong will to be a Kage and learn/know about what is meant to be a Kage. Paperwork means you keep your village is in order. By the way, it is called "village" but these hidden villages are actually huge cities like 45-50 km (28-31 mi) wide with millions of population.

If you guys are skipping filler, you've gotta skip the opening sequence of Shippuden. I feel like it spoils so much from so far in the future. They were just trying to hype people up for the big stuff, but that makes the first arc seem less important even though it is super important

They make fillers and then they try to tie the filler to the cannon. They did that with Bleach too with their first big filler arc and honestly it was kinda good, i liked that but that's so rare for a filler arc to produce a good villain and a good story, tying the villain of the arc to the progress of the MC (Ichigo) in later arcs, in flash backs and such. It's kind of fucked you know, cause you'd like to skip them but the sense that you might miss something because it's tied in, making it this weird, filler cannon. it's honestly fucked but luckily not all fillers are like this, most fillers are just like "WTF is even this" like in Naruto shippuden there is this filler episode that's just named "Mecha-Naruto" and as the name suggests, it's about a HUGE Naruto robot in between cannon episodes and it was dumb asf. It was the rage at the time because it was a two episode filler and it literally cuts in at one of the most important emotional battles of the show, just imagine having seen the hypest episode of the history of the show, the episode ends, you wait a week, and this shit comes out and people are fucking MAD and it went on for an other week. Wasn't just that, that entire arc was huge, like episode wise it was so damn long even if we cut the fillers, so many flash backs and such but it was also riddled with fillers like every 3 episodes. it was infuriating like just stop the production of the show and wait. It's different now cause you can just hit up "Filler list" and it will show all the cannon episodes in green so i don't think the rage is justified after the matter but as it aired, it was a fucking abomination. For the likes of Naruto and Bleach and One piece this was the life of a weekly watcher as it aired.
