Naruto's parents frequented Ichiraku, Teuchi's daughter was affectionate with Kushina, and so on. It turns out that Teuchi was the first person who looked at Naruto with kind eyes. And soon after Hinata and Iruka, exactly in that order.

Sasuke doesn't actually hate Naruto, he hates his own weakness and Naruto who feels like he's progressed so much makes him feel even weaker so he takes it out on him. If Sasuke were much stronger then he wouldn't particularly hate Naruto, it also all comes back to the encounter with Itachi, Sasuke feels like he's been working hard and has grown stronger all these years, I mean he has sharingan and chidori, but when he discovers how wide the gulf is between him and Itachi and that he's barely even a nuisance to itachi it really drives home how much farther he needs to go, if he'd never ran into Itachi though Sasuke probably would have been pretty content to stay with the village and maybe would have even genuinely admired Naruto the way he did around the Gaara fight, if he has no reason to think he's really that much weaker than Itachi then he has no reason to act the way he's been acting.

Even if we ignore the bit where his brother was there for Naruto and that Sasuke was chop liver, the turning point in Sasuke's decision wasn't just seeing Itachi, it was that Itachi put him into the genjutsu and made him watch the Uchiha's get slaughtered over and over AGAIN. He'd always been living for revenge since that day, and that awful reminder showed him how he'd been distracted from his "path of revenge" by having people he cared about. We basically watched all the progress he'd made in his relationships with Team Kakashi crumble under the weight of his duty to kill Itachi. We're watching him burn his bridges and close off his heart.

I mean the same thing happened with Gojo and Geto, they were friends but geto had his goals and Sasuke was 100% right, he's not progressing while Naruto is. He thought he had his chances with Itachi but he realized he didn't after their encounter with him. Then seeing Naruto's rasengan damaging those water containers more than Sasuke meaning Naruto's strongest jutsu is stronger than Sasuke's strongest one. Sasuke being useless against Gaara while Naruto defeated him single handedly. So no this is not a sudden reaction of Sasuke's :)

Sasuke's motives all involve killing Itachi. He just loose over and over during the arcs. He was beaten by Lee, he almost died by Haku, while Naruto managed to defeat him, he lost to Orochimaru, he was unable to defeat Gaara who was also defeated by Naruto, he was beaten by Itachi (which hit him more) and he even saw Naruto cause more damage than he did to the water tank. So when they came to offer him more power, he accepted.

i disagree with brig on that, i think there was enough "reason" for sakura to love sasuke so much. she had already had a crush on him but then those 3 became a team and spent so much time together. they survived deadly situations together and sasuke saved her life multiple times as well. naruto and sakura are the closest people to sasuke, and sakura does have parents but she spends most of her time with her teammates too, they are probably as close to her as her parents, if not closer. she loves naruto at this point too but sasuke has always been special to her and it is very understandable that she would be extremely upset, to this degree as well. i can only imagine honestly. they do have a very deep bond, all three of them, and with that you don't really need a list of reasons to love someone, i think. the same goes for naruto too, he also loves sasuke but their relationship was more rocky than both of their relationships with sakura. those three are like family at this point. also sasuke has shown that he cares about sakura several times but in his own way up until now. like their relationship gradually got better and deeper.

Sasuke and Sakura's scene was hard for Kishimoto to draw... He felt that he is seprarating to lovers and it broke his heart... (Also fun fact: According to Eichiro Oda One piece's mangaka... Sakura looks way to similar to Kishimoto's wife and Sasuke is Kishimoto's favorite creation😁) This was the first time I genuinely felt for Sakura... Or she was really stupid in the beginning for me... From here now she started maturing a bit for me... The anime didn't give this scene enough justi ce (the VA were good tho) .. Sasuke’s decision seems sudden but remember that Sasuke (from his POV) just woke up from getting beaten mercilessly and mind raped by Itachi, and Itachi was highly interested in Naruto while ignoring Sasuke. Sasuke woke up from the coma with his hatred increased because he was no closer to beating Itachi and Naruto was stealing Itachi’s attention.
