Very well put, because my senior year in high school I copped the Hip Hop is Dead album and loved it but I listened to just the other day and it was like hearing it for the first time again because you can appreciate the lyrics in a different light now. And I was gonna go back to listen to the Distant Relatives album again which I had when I was younger as well. To me the album was very different from what I was use to hearing from him but he always has a message in his songs to spread knowledge and that's one of the biggest things about him that makes him my Favorite MC of all times.

I think the most savage diss is the fact that Nas refused to acknowledge 50 by name the entire song! 50 isn't lyrically as good as most people in the game. But he's pretty well with the beats, and hooks. He can flow really well, and honestly deserves respect. He's just not a very hyped lyricist, which is why 50 isn't very good in beefs, and had D-12 cover for him. Because Em, and Proof are nasty battlers. and Swift and Kon-Artist are sick as fuck, too.
