This was when Nas was trying to keep up with Biggie. Biggie was doing the whole "Frank White" thing and came out to the stage in pin stripe suits. Nas was trying to follow that model. Really It Was Written in general was him trying to do what Biggie did, he's even admitted it. Illmatic was dope no doubt, but nobody bought the shit, he had to switch it up on that Mafioso shit.

Hes amazing nowadays. Ironically, since hes old now. I saw in 2017 as well as earlier this year, and he was ON POINT with his breath control.
