The National Aeronautics and Space Administration presents this film from the late 1960s and the administration’s logo is the image that is shown in the opening sequence at 0:20. The U.S. Government and NASA present information about the lunar space suits and how they protect each astronaut, specifically using "Astronaut Andy" as an example at 1:14. The film uses cartoon depictions to portray an astronaut in a lunar space suit to illustrate what happens in space and how the suits perform to keep flight crew safe from hazardous conditions (1:15-4:04). Actual astronauts or stand-ins are shown wearing the real suits while the narrator describes safety and functional features from the first to the last layers of the materials (4:05-7:25). Components including a constant wear garment, a liquid-cool undergarment, a pressure garment assembly (including a helmet and gloves), a portable back pack life-support system, and a thermo micrometeriod garment are worn by a model astronaut throughout the film (4:18-4:39). Apollo flight crews will wear these suits and the film describes all the instruments as well as the process of each layer. A functional test is described for purposes of evaluation of temperature controls (6:00-6:20). The film provides a great deal of information and details about the lunar space suits for potential flight crew training purposes. At 8:00, a schematic shows the suit capabilities in simple format to illustrate its mechanisms for usage in missions. Backup safety features are also described for the potential wearer of this garment set, inlcuding a secondary emergency oxygen supply system (9:30). Multiple tests are performed, detailed, and an analysis of the results and any design changes are described (12:50-14:00). The Manned Spacecraft Center of NASA constructed portions of the suits. This educational video for astronauts and other NASA affiliates provides an in-depth analysis and review of the lunar space suits.
We encourage viewers to add comments and, especially, to provide additional information about our videos by adding a comment! See something interesting? Tell people what it is and what they can see by writing something for example: "01:00:12:00 -- President Roosevelt is seen meeting with Winston Churchill at the Quebec Conference."

I had no idea that all of this was involved in these suits, or that the heat was so high on the moon.

It’s incredible tech. Search for the moon machines episode on spacesuits. Pretty sure it’s still on KZbin. Great interviews of all the engineers and factory line. Workers going through the whole story of development and manufacture.

Trolls, ignorant, and / or misinformed they show up on any moon mission-related video. 🤷‍♂️ In any case, don't feed the trolls. 😛 Yes, the earth is an oblate spheroid and NASA did land on the moon multiple times (my dad helped fake it 😉 ... um, build simulators to train the astronauts). Now, watch this spot for responses. 👨‍🚀

@@carlkinder8201in geopolitics money does not exist. Only power. In the race between the Sovjet union and the USA this was one off the battle fields. In a battle truth is not important, perseption is important. All the best.
@carlkinder8201
@carlkinder8201 6 ай бұрын
@@papaspeleo if what you were saying were true about money not being important in geopolitics, then the Soviet Union would not have gone bankrupt trying to keep up with the west. So you've debunked your own argument with your own statement per flat earth standard operating procedure. Also, the cold war has been over for 34 years - which means there has not been a reason to return to the moon for that time period, and there has not been a need to spend the money & resources to maintain or develop new infrastructure for going to the moon. So your statement about geopolitics and the cold war driving the need to for the race to the moon also debunks the idea of your original statement about NASA "losing the technology", because you literally give a plausible explanation for them doing so. Btw, NASA HAS restarted their moon program with new hardware and more ambitious goals (Artemis) now that China has declared goals to land chinese astronauts on the moon... so reality in general debunks your original statement as well. Oh, and another inconvenience for your delusion: the Soviet Union had a 700,000 strong KGB with a massive budget and first rate intelligence gathering capabilities. The soviets obviously would have easily detected a fake and would have presented their evidence to the United Nations.... that is if power is as important as you proclaim it to be in geopolitics, then obviously the Soviets would have done this to gain power over their rival. Yet they didn't, instead their state controlled news ran stories covering the US moon landings.

Weird how these don't work in vacuum chambers on earth but work fine on space 🤷‍♂️🤔
@mindlightwave

Space isn't really a vacuum, that's an outdated misconception. Mainstream models also need to be reassessed, eventually I believe the dogma in academia will be challenged and sorted out, as we are seeing the false climate alarmism and skewed earth/sun studies being called out. See Tucker's recent interview with dr. Willie Soon, i don't agree with him on some more complex stuff but as free thinkers we should all hear one another out.
