For the banana question, per u/dkozinn on reddit: "Turns out estimating the volume of a banana isn't simple, and I found at least a dozen scholarly papers explaining how to do it. I didn't want to calculate it myself, so I found an answer that said that the average volume of a banana is ≈ 107 cm3. The volume of a regulation ping pong ball is 40mm which gives a volume of ≈ 33.5 cm3. We get the ratio of ping pong balls to bananas from 170 cm3 / 33.5cm3 as ≈ 3.2, and use that to convert to bananas: 250 billion / 3.2 ≈ 78.125 billion bananas."
