Nasake Island
A small island in the Seto Inland Sea about 8km south of Kure. Nasake Island is a general term for Nasake Island, an uninhabited island located about 0.6km west of the Nasake Island fishing port, and is also called Nasake Island. A round burial mound (Tumulus of Jijima) has been discovered on the island. The settlement was created when the Hiroshima domain began grazing horses in 1654 and three mainland farm households were relocated for management. During World War II, the development of anti-aircraft gun positions progressed, a hangar for naval amphibious tanks was set up, and performance tests were conducted. There is an alpine mountain with an altitude of about 126m in the center of the island, and most of the island is forested with little cultivated land. The west side is mostly rocky cliffs, and the east side has three sandy beaches. There is only one village and the others have nature. The surrounding area is a good fishing spot, and fishermen come from the mainland. (See "Shimadas")
