When I won my autographed Darrel Waltrip hat at Atlanta I was the only car left running. I did the same think Tyson did, slowed my lap times down after the third caution and rode around. IN the prerace when they explaining the "gas pedal" I was looking to see what ohm the controller was. I wanted to know how fast it would react. I liked the spech about not unhooking someone elses wires and suggested just the red wire which is the brake and the only wire the car will run with unhooked.

I won on the Fireball speedway at the St. Louis Speedway in 2010 and got a autographed piece of Tony Stewart car. Very good slot car track and cars.

@GHOSTJERKER Hi! Yes, the inside lanes do have an advantage! They are shorter and with little or no traffic crossing their lanes! But you have to drive them more carefully as they have the tighter turns as you saw the purple lane next to Tyson come off towards the end because he pushed the car to hard. Tyson being an experienced driver knew exactly when to brake at the proper time. (watch his hand while he raced)

Think about it from a fan point of view, with Nascar, every fan can see the entire race as it progresses. The track is contained in one area. With F1 you only see the cars as they pass in front of you. If lead changes or accidents happen on another part of the track, you don't see it. Obviously, this doesn't apply if you watch the race on TV.

I do this every year at New Hampshire when he comes there, I've won an autographed hat by Denny Hamlin, another by Kurt Busch back when he drove the 2. I also have a signed JR Motorsports hat by Dale Jr and Danica, that one was pretty cool. He wasn't here this year tho, at least not at the September race on the Sunday.

the guy on the inside track has a huge advantage
@TheRealBmanswan
@TheRealBmanswan 6 жыл бұрын
Actually he doesn't. The middle tracks have more advantage because they have wider turns and longer stretches to gain speed. They have to turn less sharp which gives them the ability to gain more speed. The inside track has the major disadvantage since you can't speed as much and need to go slower on the inside.

This looks like the slot car track at the Big E in West Springfield, MA. It does NASCAR racing on it.

IN REAL SLOT CAR RACING THE RACE IS RUN IN EIGHT THREE TO FIVE MIN.. HEATS AT THE END OF EACH HEAT THE CARS ROTATE LANES SO THAT EACH CAR GETS APPROX EQUAL LAP LENGTHS OVER THE COURSE OF THE RACE ! A QUALIFIER IS HELD WITH EACH DRIVER RUNNING THREE LAPS ,THE FASTEST TIME GETS STARTING LANE CHOICE WHICH ALSO DETERMINES THE LANE ON WHICH THAT DRIVER WILL FINISH THE RACE !

Much stupid track. The ideal route is always shaped "eight" with the overpass. Cars are all equally long haul.

Ok then. There is nothing wrong with an oval for slot cars, but you race with a fixed timer. Then rotate lanes. The driver (or car) who completes the most laps is the winner.

Ok this is complete bull. Usually they will switch tracks after so many laps and you go to the the next rail and its counted overall with the laps done. Bottom guy on a Sunday drive while the top rail is at full speed lol. But all for fun wish i had this track at home would make a nice piece to enjoy.

The inside track did not win. I thought this was one of the better races I've seen because of the rules. Very fair, good job. Great M.C. work as well. This was old school racing. Saying all that there is that drawback to track fairness and its always been part of it. Sizzlers on a fat track did not have that problem. But no skill was needed to win just the fastest car.
