I was at the race today and the atmosphere was electric! Absolutely packed! Not to mention the perfect weather! The racing was better than I expected it to be and the Denny/Ross drama added some spice to an already pretty good race. Blaney passing 142 cars today was insane!

I was there as well. Atmosphere was great, people were loving it, but the facility was completely overwhelmed by the amount of fans. Took me the entire second stage to get a bottle of water. And apparently they didn't have room for merch booths? Crazy unprepared. I hope they can get that stuff straightened out for the coming years.

Today, nascar found some life in fans it hasn’t had in years…i wasn’t around for the 2000 era but I assume this is how cool it was. The track did what a track should…they put on a show and in turn packed the house.

The crowd shot at the beginning of this vid looked like a clip from the late 90s/early 2000s! I get that they basically just have one ginormous grandstand there, but it still looked great!

@@xander_jeffrey And he had bad luck in a few races too! Was running in the top 5/ top 10 front and then got caught in someone elses wreck. I dont remember the races off the top of my head, but I know I've seen that at least twice. If he gets a few more things breaking his way as the team gels, he could be competing for wins shortly.

It was a blast being there this weekend. Wish I could see some of the Fox guys there, but it wasn’t meant to be yesterday. There will be other opportunities. Also, solid day for Penske. Both his NASCAR and Indycar teams won this weekend.

9:25 Yes, Denny Hamlin was such a big man when he apologized 6 days later, after he had already blamed the 22 team for poor pit stop selection. A real man would have apologized the day of instead of making excuses or demanding evidence. As if his actions weren't shameful enough during this race. NASCAR and FedEx should sit that boy down.

Mad Denny is pretty close to crying Kyle and Joey. Take that crybaby stuff to wwe. It seemed a little. Bit petty to me. Rather just see them have at it on pit road or just full on spin him out. And after the first time I think it should've been over with. Idk I like the drama and I like mad drivers but it just seemed more petty than anything

It’s not Goodyear’s fault that the teams are disregarding their recommendations. They under-inflate the LR because they see the performance benefit outweighing the risk of blowing one out.

Gotta love Ross acknowledging the mistakes he made. Not a huge fan of the way this car handles on this track though, seems like it's too much of a stalemate all the way around and extremely hard to pass. GIVE US MORE HORSEPOWER!!!

More horsepower ≠ more passing. You would’ve seen the same type of race with 900 hp. There’s aero, tire falloff, track design, that play into whether or not cars can pass well. A big thing is Gateway is a flat oval, so passing is already going to be pretty difficult

@@ianperry9598 Believe me I fully understand the concept of passing difficulties, however more horsepower will equal to more control on tire falloff which will allow better long run stability/instability. Imagine the gen 6 2015 season with 500hp under the hood, it would be atrocious.

@@kharnthebetrayer1575 the last time there was bad 900hp passing was the 2016/17 season due to the aero package. The 2014/15 season was phenomenal with the high downforce/high hp package.

Love the new cars, put a lot of young drivers upfront and created great opportunities for drivers but I’m tired of 95% of the cautious being caused by tires going down they need to get that worked out. It’s tire after tire after tire going down

I agree, you definitely see the new crop up front way more than before but the tire problems need to be solved. On the other hand, one wonders how much of it is the teams choosing lower air pressures and therefore cause this issues in the first place

Great seeing Nascar giving the Cup Series what it’s never had, new tracks even though drivers that, are now in the cup series have raced at Gateway before, in the xfinity and truck series, but these cars and kind of packages never have. So hope to see this continue, only thing that needs to change about , the 2022 season is the new tires!!! Left rear after rear tire for over a month now, have been a major issue. But these new cars from what we seen out of the Gen 6 cars over the last decade was great, but don’t get me wrong the Next Gen car provides, some awesome racing for sure!!!!

Now, I absolutely HATE Denny Hamlin, but I will say that Chastain deserved every bit of what he got. I'm sorry, but if you can't complete the pass, you don't deserve the position. Chastain ignored that completely and drove straight through Denny, then proceeded to do almost the same thing to Chase, and got what he deserved. You don't just drive through 2 people and expect to not get roughed up. Personally I think Denny should've dumped him way before he dumped Chase, but that's just me

Hamlin is a classless cry baby who thinks he's a tough guy. Chastain may have not been any better, but at least he put the blame on his bad driving rather than cry about everyone else. On another note, cool to see NASCAR bring back a new venue and bring some action to a new crowd.

Really need to stop throwing cautions every time a car goes sideways. No reason to do it other than reset the field for the 37th time. Looked like there should have been 1 actual stoppage in the whole race. Combined with the stages there was probably over 10

I like Denny Hamlin,wouldn't say Im a big fan though. Today was a good reason why. The way he acted on track when he got rubbed out of the way,and then when bubba got the same. Not saying he was wrong,but could've turned out bad. He was putting lives at risk with his style of retaliation.
