Hendrick ran a modified Nascar Camaro at last year's 24 Hours of Le Mans as a Garage 56 entry. I'm not sure how much speed can be attributed to the modifications compared with the actual Nascar car, or if the long straights at Le Mans are the main factor, but that car's qualifying speed was 5 seconds faster than the GTE pole. But on the other hand, we have a direct comparison with IMSA at a few tracks: the IMSA GT3 lap record at the Indy Road Course is 7 seconds faster than the Cup Series lap record, and at Road America the GT3 record is 10 seconds faster.

Great track. As an Aussie watching because van Gisbergan is in Xfinity I can say the American road tracks and the racing on them are great. There’s too many ovals though. Some of the ovals are really good and it’s been cool learning about oval racing but some of the tracks are stupidly simple and boring and there’s just too many of them. In my opinion, the series would be a lot better with 5 less ovals and 5 more road courses, as well as the oval races being broken up more rather than one after the other. It’s been good getting in to nascar though. The cars sound amazing.

I could understand using the short layout for Arca and even trucks but the Cup Series and even the Xfinity Series should be using the full track with the carousel, its like they gotta set up the kiddie track for those NASCAR boys, its the same at Watkins Glen as well, i dont think even the Cup series has ever used the full Watkins Glen track with the boot, the Cup Series is supposed to be the primier stock car racing championship but they cant even handle racing on full road courses, they need to switch to local yellow flags on road courses where you only slow down in the sector that the local yellow is displayed in then you go green in the next sector, that way we arent bringing the whole race to a halt for every caution, they could still have full course cautions for bad accidents and stage breaks but only racing on part of the track is getting old, or just switch to road courses that we can race the full track like the Indy Road Course, Road America or the Daytona Road Course
@augustusappling1396 ай бұрын
nah nascar needs to get rid of all the road courses. You cant even watch road racing whether youre at the track or on tv. It's for rich ppl.
