At this point, I honestly am not as angry as I thought I would be. Richard Childress Racing is going through turmoil right now. 2024 has been a bad season for them both on and off the track. I don't blame Austin Dillon for trying to give his team at least one bright spot in the very dark season. And with what I've read about Dilon potentially moving to management in the next 2 years and Kyle Busch leaving the cup series to go race in the truck series, I doesn't surprise me. I think we are about to see the end of RCR in its current form as we have known it since 1969. RCR may soon be jumping into the same boat as Haas will be in next year.

100% accurate Kenny, you're right. Dillion should be in the playoffs, he won. I've watched NASCAR for over 20 years and seems now the rules have changed into NASCARS' rules, whatever decision they make at anytime. "Win your in" has been the motto since it started, but NASCAR rules changed that, probably influenced by the 2 drivers and owners that were wrecked out and whoever else. Wrecking is racing. I have seen drivers take chances and pay for it, but some prevail and end up winning. I remember when Stenhouse wrecked just about everyone on the track to win and he won, it was a fun race to watch. He went to the playoffs. NASCAR shouldn't be making up the rules as they go. Dillion won, he should be in the playoffs, it's what's right.

This ruling is BS!!! Logano wrecked Truex to make it in to the playoffs on the last lap just a few years ago without any consequences whatsoever! He has wrecked cars several times just for the win! Hamlin has done the same thing several times as well! NASCAR created this scenario by implementing the GWC and the current points format! NASCAR actually wants things like this to happen! This must be appealed if NASCAR wants to be fair to all other drivers! If it is ok for Logano to do it then it should be ok for all other drivers to do it!
@ieronimo182 ай бұрын
You're trying to equate apples and oranges. Dillon obviously crossed the line.
@charlieb81042 ай бұрын
Logano didn't come from 3 car lengths back and drive into the person. Austin wasn't competitive on the restart. If he got to the 22's bumper fairly then have at it but he didn't. It's a shame as the 3 was fast. If you can't put a whole race together you shouldn't win.
@shadowears2 ай бұрын
@@charlieb8104 After doing more research I discovered that Ross Chastain wrecked both Alex Bowman and A.J. Allmendinger on the final lap also to secure a playoff spot! Distance doesn't matter! If it is fair to put the bumper to another car to get the win for one driver then it should be fair for all of them. I am not arguing that what Dillon done was right! My argument is that if NASCAR is going to halfass enforce the rules then they need to step it up and be consistent about it! NASCAR should have let it go and held a drivers meeting and tell them that the rules are going to be enforced going forward for ALL drivers!

It was less about him dumping Logano. Everyone is stuck on that. It was the entirety of his actions. If he doesn’t dump Denny it’s not an issue.

If one driver can put the bumper to another car on the final lap to get the win then all of them should be allowed to do so!

@Kenny Wallace, you are one of the first to report this:)) I couldn't think of a better driver/analyst to have this "Press Conference" . Great work Kenny, who wants a big trophy that means absolutely nothing ? Please explain the benefit to Austin now that penalties have been assessed. I do not understand why they call him the winner, but they take away all the winning "royalties". I feel bad for Austin. I really do. But, they did penalize #9 a few years ago so we can't say "if this was so and so they wouldn't have done this". Anyway, I just think the penalties send mixed signals. NASCAR " you can have the win, but we're gonna take your money and position in the game". Weird
