I walked around this track and it actually hurts your legs from the steepness which camera doesn’t really does it justice 😀🇦🇺

Never had the chance to go but I imagine so, it looks incredible. Hopefully one day I'll get there

did two laps in my landcruiser with van on and kelpie in the back in 2018. :) steep is correct.
@peterbuckley38774 ай бұрын
The camera also doesn’t do justice as to how narrow the track actually is as well, it seems even steeper if you go around in reverse.

Bathurst is the hardest track in the world, also the best race in the world , when are these yanks going to get the message, look at , SVG , he has a lot to show you.
@insertgenericusernamehere24023 ай бұрын
@@barrybristow4646 Monaco is probably more difficult due to one tiny mess up you're done. Coming down from the mountain and going up you have acers of space. That you simply don't in Monaco.

When Australia introduced colour TV in the 1970s, I remember going to my cousin’s to watch the race, his Mum had rented a Colour TV for the weeknd of this race.

You should check out Bathurst of old when it was a dirt road and the only tar was main straight. The seventies and eighties was the best era, Brock, Moffat and Johnson in Torana's and Falcons battling it out in what was a slightly modified street car.

Its great that you now understand we dont discredit NASCAR without good reason. It's definately car racing but not even close to the level of V8 supercars.

If you ever travel to Australia/ Bathurst, they do sell hot laps. Supercars website should have details. A pro driver will have you screaming too. 😂

The Jason DW keeps referring to is the late Jason Richards who was unfortunately lost to the world in December 2011. Pretty sure that the ride Jason gave to DW was in October 2009. The funny thing is that by current standards those laps were fairly slow plus it doesn't look like Jason was trying all that hard. However, if nothing else the video with DW can be looked upon as an ongoing tribute for Jason. R.I.P. Mr. Richards.
@michaelball5136 ай бұрын
It was actually Jason Bright that took DW around . It was at the 2011 Supercheap Auto 1000 I was there 😀

When it is not used for racing, the Bathurst race track is a public road that anyone can drive around (speed limited however).
@insertgenericusernamehere24026 ай бұрын
Said this in the last video and ill continue to say it you need to react to one of either two Josh Revell videos either The tumultuous tale of mahaveer ranganathan about a young driver trying to get up the ranks into f1 and failing miserably (becoming a ironic hero amongst the hardcore fanbase) or his video the Greatest Motor race of all time about the Bathurst 1000. Hes a phenomenal storyteller.

I like how open and honest Alex Rossi and James Hinchcliffe are about their attempt at Bathurst. Like they said, just too hard to adapt to from Indycar and GT3 experience counted for nothing.
@Aussieholdenguy703 ай бұрын
The camera doesn’t do justice if you have been there before you know what I mean especially if you’re lucky enough to have a fast lap around the track I won a 2 lap experience and man the amount of speed and accuracy is insane and the wheel work plus heel toe shifting down is something to be seen not to mention 600 hp of chev reving off it’s head is music to any car guy

Just something on the copyright thing. The original channel is the actual owner of the broadcast. Supercars is what V8 Supercars is nowadays. They produce the actual broadcast in house and give the rights to broadcast partners such as 7 or Fox Sports.

There are only a few road courses in the world that come close to Bathurst. It takes a long time to learn it and most overseas drivers shy away from the risks that only precision and courage you need to enter blind corners at 250kph. In the 1960s when it was not the pristine track it is today, they ran sports cars from LeMans on it and there was a hump at the end of the main straight and cars would take off. One such driver was in a P4 Ferrari that held the top speed record for 20 years and it became airborne into the braking zone. He pulled into the pits, got out, threw his helmet into the garage and left. Shane Van Gisbergen and Marcus Ambrose thrived there because the races were six hours long and what you saw there had to be maintained there for that long. And after six hours the cars might only be seconds apart.

Guy's, nice to hear you using Supercars Channel for your "approved" content. Keep it up. Also, F1 GP weekend coming up here in Melbourne, Australia. Supercar has a round over the weekend at the same track. The 'meet' is 4 days starting Thursday. Worth watching....👀
