@StringerNews1 I am aware of all the Ford variants . I’ve never heard the term of using small block with only Chev engines. I worked at a machine shop back in the early eighties and small block was a term we used with small MOPARs, Ford and Chevs. This is the first time I’ve encountered someone being bothered by this use of the terminology. To each their own I guess.

Dave's gt350 and Craig's truck was the inspiration of selling my nice driver modded 55 Bel Air three months ago. Three days later I picked up a 65 Falcon hardtop. Solid bones with a nice patina going on. All manual car with a high reving small block in the works. This is the sound I'm chasing after.

@drewdobbins8178 the hi rev build got scrapped for the supercharged 302 out my fox. Some say it's a step backwards but I'm swapping the current efi setup for ace's efi with a edelbrock intake using the vortech blower. Mild cam and heads. It'll be fun

I love everything about this truck and Craig's build. I was just going to skip forward to watch the drive, but glad I watched the whole video. My Dad gave me the "Chrome Yellow" '72 F100 with a 302 that I built when I was about 15 with about $500 and some parts he had laying around the shop. Good memories and this just brought them back. Glad I discovered this channel and another awesome video!

The truck sounds just like old track trucks/cars of the 80’s. High revving and loud. Might sound different in person but on video I think it sounds great. Black widow mufflers have a high db rating so it’s likely loud Af in person.

LOVE IT. Growing up starting with a 1973 maverick, and then 67 cougar, 69 F100, 65 F 100, 67 stang, 76 F100 and 88 stang gt, everyone had either a 289 or 302. SWEET RIDE IM JEALOUS AS HELL.

This is by far one of my favorite trucks featured on Autotopia LA the sound and originality of it makes it’s so perfect , my kids are huge fans on this channel, we had the pleasure of seeing another beautiful truck featured on this channel Pretty Penny as we stopped by for some gas in HB California, we had a quick convo with the owner and I mentioned to him I “knew I had seen that truck on this channel”. I’ve had quite a few of the 67-72 F100’s and they rock. Quite light and loads of parts available. Never felt a need to put a crown Vic front suspension on. The I beam system works great and was around for 55 years. Progressive coils make them work so smooth

It really is one of the coolest trucks on KZbin. In a world of very entertaining but mostly unobtainable vehicles for most people, this is something a lot of regular people can achieve on their own at home. I always fall back on what a good friends dad always told me. He had 8 second drag cars. Full race cars. He always said he had more fun with his 12 and 11 second toys that the real race cars.

Good on you, love the truck the speed and just everything about the F-100's. I was a machinist for over 10 years and then joined the USAF as a Crew Chief mechanic on four different fighter jets and I couldn't tell you within all them years how many "engineers" always over thought simple things I and others had to correct them on. Love that truck, keep it going.

Mine was same 1947 CJ-2A learned all the basics with this one.. But I didn't upgrade anything other than the electrical, the 6 volt was the first to go.. The drive train was too weak to upgrade.. It's still parked in the shed after 40 years..

@@fgpriceinc my plan was to put a very mild 283 to replace the anemic flathead 4 but my dad said a willy's was designed to have 50 hp anything more and I would have more problems..I ended up finding a 68 Bronco that had the V8 and was set up for the extra power.. The weak link was the crappy 3 speed...after almost 40 years in storage I'm thinking about a straight 6 in place of the 289..

I was the guy who won the rev battles in the parking lot, had a 2v 4.6 GT, the meanest sounding 260hp I've ever heard lol. We bought it with stock pipes but it had the mufflers and cats cut out so it sounded nasty but actually sounded pretty damn good.

I only did it a couple times, the teachers watching the parking lot weren't happy with me being it was in the morning, and I was taking that baby to 4-5k rpms. This was like 2020. So everyone has either run down trucks and suvs or 4 cyl run of the mill cars, the competition wasn't very big...
