Well, after watching this video, the biggest moment I have to talk about is what happened at Texas in 2011 between Ron Hornaday and Kyle Busch because let's look back at the events that led to that moment happening: At the start of the 2011 season, NASCAR announced that drivers could pick one series to run for a championship in and while that was good, NASCAR didn't announce how many races Cup drivers could run in the lower series. Now, going into that race at Texas, there were four drivers separated by just 15 races going into the final two races of the season: Austin Dillon, Ron Hornaday, Johnny Sauter and James Buescher and all four of those drivers figured that if they made it through Texas without any issues, the championship would be settled at Homestead. However, 12 laps into the race, Kyle Busch changed all that and because of Kyle being in a race that was the next-to-last race of the season, he cost Ron a shot at the championship. Now, I still remember Phil Parsons saying that Kyle should be parked for the rest of the season and while he got parked for the rest of the weekend, if it was up to me, I would have told Kyle that not only are you going to be parked for the rest of the season, but you're banned from competing in the Xfinity and truck series for the rest of your career. Also, I believe that NASCAR should have went away and start implementing limits on how many races Cup drivers could run in the lower series after what Kyle did. Let me hear what anybody has to say on this!

I was honestly shocked at the Matt ruling. Like so many other's, I looked at the Gordon vs Boyer thing (& remember this, Gordon's revenge on Clint, also took out "2 completely innocent" bystander's ) and was like "WTF NASCAR??" 🤨 Plus throw in the fact that Matt had a squeaky clean record and was a model citizen for 20yrs & a competitor for NASCAR to hold up as an example to all, so his being SUSPENDED made zero sense to me, but then 😳! About 6 months ago, I found out the REAL reason for it! Turns out a high ranking NASCAR executive's son, just happened to absolutely love Lil Joey Lagono, so Big Daddy hammered Matt to appease his young son 🧐 Welcome to the real world eh! 🙄 Like The Great Bob Seager once sang "Until you've been beside a Man, you don't know who he knows" 👀? The fact that intentional attacks don't get drivers banned from the sport all together is worrisome
@gatling2162 жыл бұрын
A bit late to the party, so my apologies for the reply 8 months later. NASCAR comes from a different tradition than most other motorsports. The whole thing was born from moonshiners getting together on the weekends to see who had the faster car. The cars were built tough, as a certain amount of beating and banging is expected when one’s job regularly involves running from the police. Thus, you’d have drivers use the same tactics on the racetrack. The rough and tumble nature of the early days led to a tradition of roughhousing that continues to the modern era. Strategically making contact with other cars on the track for various reasons, some of them even helpful, is a must if you want to win. Wrecks do happen, but mostly they’re unintentional. As for why NASCAR doesn’t often eject drivers for deliberately spinning someone out, they prefer to let drivers police themselves. Someone who goes out of their way to be a nuisance is going to have a very hard time winning races. They’ll get blocked more often, drivers will be reluctant to draft with them, and of course, they might get wrecked themselves. When it becomes unsafe or reckless, like the above examples, that’s when NASCAR steps in.
@leotastic5572 Жыл бұрын
@@gatling216eah well still sounds like a wierd concept to eject drivers when you feel it gets out of Hand without any real rules. I mean the generell idea behind a penalty is that one should know he will recieve it when commiting the crime but this ain‘t the case if you have no clear rules.

As someone who doesnt really watch NASCAR but does watch F1 it seems insane to me that NASCAR drivers are just allowed to punt eachother off at high speeds in certain conditions. I get that NASCAR tracks are purpose built for these high speed crashes and theyre a bit heftier so theyre more prone to staying intact but still. If an F1 driver would try to take out another one at 150MPH they would be called a murderer, disqualified from the race, potentially more than one or even permanently.

I feel replacing them with a couple sedans, SUV, trucks etc would generate amongst your viewers a much greater desire to click. To be clear, I don’t believe a majority of people would be confused by it but in my experience even losing just a few can be the difference between profit and no profit for the quarter. Jimmie Johnson got parked at Richmond in 2011 at the tail end of his and Kurt Busch’s rivalry. Kurt wrecked him earlier in the race and Johnson got him back a little later in the race and was parked. That’s the race Knaus asked him if he was hungry and wanted a knuckle sandwich haha.

Nah, he wasn't parked, he broke the full filler and damaged the left-rear Suspension on the retaliation hit, that's why he pulled off the track.

What about Matt Kenseth getting parked, after his pit crew went over the wall with too many men? (Damaged Vehicle Policy violation, Fall 2017 Kansas race, if I’m not mistaken).

I watched those races where Carl flipped Brad in the Busch or Xfinity series where you didn't show how Brad a week earlier had either flipped or wrecked Carl in a similar situation. And when the Pensky Puke got his payback, his daddy came crying to the NASCAR officials saying how precious his little spoiled ass punk kid was and how he's concerned that he wet his pants in the car when he wrecked it and Carl should have to clean it up!

What about Kevin Harvick being parked in 2002 because NASCAR caught him saying he's going to wreck Coy Gibbs in a Trucks race?

Kyle Busch's act should've resulted in a full season ban, if not a multi-year ban. He could've killed him.

Anyone know how good McDowell did in the 18. I have wondered how well he would do after he has out performed in ok equipment
@zenvofm3 жыл бұрын
At the time he hadn't run a full season in cup, so it's kinda expected to run mediocre when you didn't have much prior seat time.

@Thomas Apple At the time, McDowell was scraping by driving for start and park teams mostly.
