@@kyle57688 the 4 car wasn't randomly picked to go to the R&D center, the 14 was. 1) the 4 may have had the same part and wasn't picked. 2) the part may not have been making a significant difference, but most likely the 14 car was being used as a test car and they caught the bad end of an unlucky draw. 3) a possible scenario Zippy was trying to elude to in his statement was maybe they were playing with in the shop, but didn't mean for it to go on the car to the track, (quality control) but Zippy didn't want to actually say all that. Too much of an excuse. Still throws a few people under the bus.

I use to work in the industry and the FIRST thing they tell you is never ever admit to any wrong doings . The NACA duct is bacically a "V" bowl shaped vent used in aircraft mainly; it allows for cooling in environments where low drag is needed. You see em usually on the rear windows that provide air to the helmets.

The next gen car has changed the sport, only time will tell if the changes are for the better or not. You have big budget organizations like Hendrick and others with a bunch of engineers and R&D folks, that's how they got their edge over the past two decades. Now everyone is supposed to be driving a spec car that's supposed to be essentially identical in most ways, those folks are looking for things to do (and tweak). I'm not sure we want to have a reboot of the IROC series out there but if the only difference between the cars is a sticker package I'm not sure what purpose race teams will have in the future.

I grew up on the inside of the racing industry and even in the lower ranks, if you're not spending 10s of millions of dollars every year trying to skirt under the law and gain an advantage, you lose. It's a really bad culture that has only grown more and more prominent in racing, specifically NASCAR. It's no wonder teams cry about not making money, they spend it all on trying to cheat their way around the rules to gain an advantage.

As a teacher, deciding to hand out heavy disciplinary acts is a dangerous game. You create a precedent and HAVE to stick w it for it to work. While it’s worth it in a classroom, I’m not sure its working for nascar… your discipline is useless if it is not respected by the classroom/ race teams. By making a statement w Bubba, they forced themselves to make a decision on the most popular driver (that will have fallout), they’ve forced themselves to have to penalize the golden race team/ owner (I’m sure Rick has loved that), and they forced themselves to fine a team owner/ driver who has a microphone to spread dissension against them (and Denny does it every chance he gets). It keeps happening, so I get the vibe that no one in the garage cares. They are playing w/ house money and will do this until nascar leadership gets worn out and quits, OR fans turn against the Steve’s and new Nascar leadership… an owner like Tony knows Nascar needs him more than he needs Nascar; same for Rick Hendrick, Chase Elliott and Denny Hamlin. They will push the limits because there is no true consequence.

I think this penalty was too much. I know they are not supposed to modify parts like that, but 120 points and 25 playoff points taken away is just too much. In my opinion, the penalty should be only 60 points and 15 playoff points taken away. In addition, Alex Bowman, William Byron, and Austin Dillon should had only lost 30 points instead of 60. On the other hand, as for SHR, probably not many people realize this but I think they are becoming the next Robert Yates Racing and their downfall seems to be more like the Robert Yates' one than the Roush one. Therefore, at least in my opinion, SHR is worse now than what Roush ever was from 2015-2022 and at the very best there just as bad as Roush in their worst year during that timespan from 2015-2022.

The only car the 6 team screwed over this weekend was the 6 car. Wow were they bad in the pits, they cost him a good finish. My favorite was the one where they failed to tighten the one lug nut on the wheel and managed to light the car on fire at the same time. Jeesh.

So, what happens if a Legit company that is selling the parts somehow sells a counterfeit part or parts to teams? Like they find the company in China or Tawain makes the part but also sells counterfeit/knockoff part for the race team but accidentally has the lower quality counterfeit/knockoff sold to the team suppling the parts. Would then NASCAR have to dole out the parts at beginning of each season to every team after inspection for them being counterfeit/knockoff?, thus banning new teams or racers on a 3 team for a race organization to jump in after the start of the season. I fear this is going to happen unless NASCAR has big restrictions on that parts have to be made in house in the USA so NASCAR can determine if they are making up to spec parts. Also, what if some parts can't get the tolerances NASCAR is asking for that easy and mistakes are easy to do due to how tight the tolerances are? These are things I want to know what they do for Cup cars parts so I can see things that they will not have addressed becuse the Team responsible for the Gen 7 car originally made the cars too stiff to race taking out drivers the way that Kurt Bush was taken out of racing forever at this point.

@@johnhaas2523 Yeah I feel like the Rules are either too restrictive or not enough thought went on about how to stop counterfeits/knockoffs that would be sold by the places as the real deal ether on purpose or accident. At the worst we the fans are not getting that info we want to know how they do it even if NASCAR has "something" in place. I also feel some parts are required tolerances they can't meet for a few select parts due to not looking at tolerances for said items when made by a manufacture. Also, what would happen now that each part is made by a single company as in this part is made by X only this by Y when a company can't make the parts due to this reason or goes under, did NASCAR think about this at all? SHR is still guilty as they knowingly bought parts/made parts for the vehicle.

To put it mildly, NASCAR didn’t throw the book at Chase Briscoe’s team. They threw an entire fully loaded bookcase at Chase Briscoe’s team.

Ouch. These new car parts - Don't touch it, don't think about it, don't think about touching it! Maybe the teams will learn. A hit like this could even effect sponsorships or driver negotiations.

Kansas right now could arguably be the best on track product, voiced from the drivers and fans both. I have never been to the Midwest but I'm also guessing the weather during November would make it dam near impossible for. A race tho

I think Homestead is the best option, unless if people want to not make Atlanta a restrictor plate track anymore. Anything from the Carolinas north would probably be too cold for the finale (unless if NASCAR were to decrease the number of races per season by a few and finish in mid-October).

NASCAR is sort of limited as to where they can hold their championship weekend. Their #1 priority is the overall fan experience and enjoyment. Weather is a HUGE factor, fans cannot enjoy a race and other weekend activities if it's cloudy, gloomy, and temps in the 40's. Rain potential also plays a part, which is one reason why Daytona during hurricane season is a bad idea. Plus, a championship being decided solely on a last lap 20 car wreck isn't a good look either. PHX may not have the most exciting racing but Homestead had it's share of snoozers too. But besides that, Phoenix has a great infield and fan zone experience, a very fan friendly garage area set up, a MASSIVE camping area which fills to capacity every year, and relatively easy and short access to a major freeway. If NASCAR can fix their short track package on this car, Phoenix could be a real barn burner race.
