You know, I think I figured out why this worked so well for NASCAR (more than just being a kickin' piece of trailer music). The combination of the Country/Southern Rock sounds and the bombastic sports epic music really suited what was appealing about watching NASCAR. It's an obvious callout to the sport's roots in the heart of the South, while also having that larger than life presentation deserving of any major sport. Might also help that it gets me ready for DW to start screaming BOOGITY BOOGITY BOOGITY BOYS!

This was composed by Scott Schreer, who did all of the other Fox themes of the era (NFL, NHL and MLB). He would also do the theme for the ill-fated NBC/ABC Baseball Network venture in 1994, and he would compose the starting grid theme for the 1996 Indy 500 on ABC.
