Driving a NASCAR at Daytona International Speedway. See the top speed achieved with live speed readout. This is the on-board view of my first laps on an oval racetrack.
I did the 8 minute track time with the Richard Petty Driving Experience, www.drivepetty...
It was an awesome experience but as you can see you don't get a full 8 minutes out on track, only 3 full laps and a top speed of 134mph.
I have used the information supplied with the video provided as part of the day to edit this video and enable the extra information like the lap times and the speed. To do this you need to download the Race Keeper Software from www.race-keepe... and download the Comparo HD to then display the extra information Drive Petty do not put on your video.

Jarrett had the best school that let me do 184 mph at Talladega (a 52 second lap) after several visits. Ronda, the Ops Manager, was great. But she called me one day in 2015, telling me not to come back as Dale Jarrett was using bad tires and had really gotten lax on safety procedures. Jarrett went out of business a short time after the call. Today's racing schools are all lying to you and you go extremely slow. You're better off just riding the highways.

I've got a bunch of race keepers videos and downloaded the comparo to bring them up, but do you know how to get the mph readout on the video like you've done?

I did this a few years ago and I am sure that the software has been updated. Using the latest software, once your run is loaded go to the Configure menu and select Gauge Manager. This will bring up a new window that will allow you to select different gauges depending on what you want to show. If data is available for the gauge then you should be able to turn it off and on (No data will have the selection box greyed out). When the gauge is shown on the video you can move the gauge to a suitable position on the screen. Hope this helps you out.

Would you say it was worth it? Those speeds are very disappointing. I was considering doing this while on vacation in Daytona, but I have been faster in my own car at track days at smaller tracks. Limiting it to 130mph on such a fast track would frustrate me, I would think. Especially knowing I could comfortably do 180 if the professionals are doing 200+

I would say it is worth it. I have never experienced being on an oval track before and I probably never will get the chance again. The speeds on the video are GPS speeds that were embedded in the video and not readily available on the stock video that is purchased. I would have liked to go faster than this too and could have handled it also. However you are out on track with lots of people of varying capabilities, hence the limit that was imposed.
