Hallo from the UK. I absolutely loved this. I got into Nascar after reading, of all things, Tom Wolfe's essay on Junior Johnson, and I never thought I would ever see footage from the year he ran a lone Chevrolet against all the factory cars. Wolfe's article is worth a read for those who haven't done so. I became a subscriber to Hot Rod soon after. To quote casualobserver2305, Junior was badass.

I'm EXTRA-Thankful That The Historic Account This Video Provides Exists. Nice Job With The Filming And The Colorisation, And 'Thank Y'all' For Uploading It. Sadly, I Was Only 4 At The Time, So I Missed Out On The Race, But No Love Lost With That Music 😖 / 🙂.• Again, Nice Job, And Much Sincere Thanks 🙂.

I was brought here by Protomartyr. I am also a car guy. Not much NASCAR at all, but this makes me respect it even more. It's just not the same now. You know what i mean. And "Fireball", really? I wonder.

How to tell it's an old newsreel about racing: The first fifty percent of the video is filled with fluff, often of the weird 'jerking off a 100-years dead failed rebellion' type.
